Mr metformin can be taken up to 2500 mg per day. But 100 mg is also a high dose only. If it is not causing any gastro intestinal side effects then no problem. It is really good that you have started on insulin because looking at amount of drugs that you are taking, it is necessary for you to shift to insulin. By doing self monitoring of blood sugar daily you can increase the insulin dosage every alternate day till you reach target fasting level. It is good to reduce or take away pioglitazone.

Its quite surprising that with a report of 97/193 some one has prescribed Diabetic medicines for you. Kindly repeat all your tests again from a different lab. Take your reports to a different doctor. Diabetes medicines should not be taken in this manner. They can create problems in case your body doesn't need them. Better to be sure.

Hello,
firstly get her to see a gynaec right away to confirm the pregnancy. Who wud then refer her to any endocrinologist for her sugars and thyroid levels. She wud probably be asked to stop sitagliptin as itz unsafe in pregnancy but please do this only after seeing the doctor as he wud put you on alternative meds. Her thyroid wud be checked again. But please visit the doctors as therez a risk to the baby also with this sugar level and meds.

You need more insulin, two to three times daily. Timely increasing insulin dose can save heart, eyes, kidney etc. Don't delay to avoid big problems in near future. Once diabetes is controlled, dose of medicine can be reduced gradually. Take care.
