Metformin is an insulin sensitizer and is usually prescribed in women with Polycyctic ovaries. It helps in improving hormonal profile, cycle regularity and increases the chances of pregnancy. It can be safely continued even in pregnancy. Most common Side effects are Abdominal or stomach discomfort

Hello, Thanks for the query.
Your fasting glucose is a bit high. Ideally FBG should be < 100 mg & PP 160 to 170 mg. It is important to look at your overall lifestyle along with the drug treatment. As regards taking the talet that yiu have mentioned, it is claimed to be beneficial in diabtes, about which I have no idea. You can try it along with metformin. Thanks.

The drugs mentioned Glimepiride and Voglibose are different in their action.
Metformin is supposed to reduce or delay glucose absorption and hence slows down blood glucose rise after taking food. Plus it also reduces insulin resistance hence helps blood glucose control. There are other beneficial effects like helps slight weight reduction.
