Do not use hydrogen peroxide. I give herbal powder to apply with milk. That can make it normal color as patient's skin.

It could be due to infection/pus/ insect in ear/wax deposits /fungal infections.

Use warm rather than hot water.

The ear wax dissolves in oil based solvents, better to use medicated ear wax solvents and then get the ear washed from an ent surgeon.
