About Gerbisa 5mg Suppository

Gerbisa 5mg Suppository is used as a stimulant laxative. It provides relief during constipation. It functions by stimulating the bowel muscles to help the stool come out.

On using Gerbisa 5mg Suppository you may experience side effects such as abdominal pain, fatigue, diarrhoea, nausea, muscle cramps, vomiting, rapid or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, mood disorders, swelling, skin rash and drowsiness. Should your reactions persist or become worse over time contact your health care provider right away.

Before using Gerbisa 5mg Suppository inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to any ingredient contained within Gerbisa 5mg Suppository, if you have abdominal pain, constipation, you have issues swallowing without chewing, if you have any allergies to any foods, medicines or substances, you are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, you are pregnant or are breastfeeding a baby.

This medication needs to be taken by mouth with or without food. The dosage should be determined by your physician based on your medical history and current condition. The usual dose in adults is about 5-15 mg taken once-thrice orally per day. While taking this medication swallow it whole without crushing, chewing or breaking the tablet.

Onset of action occurs 6-10 hours after oral dose or 15-60 minutes after a rectal dose; swallow tablets whole, do not crush or chew; do not take antacid or milk within 1 hour of taking drug.

It works by stimulating peristalsis by directly irritating the smooth muscle of the intestine, possibly the colonic intramural plexus; alters water and electrolyte secretion producing net intestinal fluid accumulation and laxation.
