Neurologist is not the right specialist to treat anxiety. He seems to have prescribed a masala of medications. Consult a psychiatrist, who is the right person to treat anxiety. Sometimes CBT needs to be combined with anxiolytics for better outcomes. All the best.

Hi,
Usually the medications you mentioned should be discontinued slowly under the guidance of a doctor. When we stop them abruptly we may get some symptoms of anxiety which can cause the things you mentioned such as feelings of weakness, indigestion etc. It is not mentioned in your question but I feel that every time you stop these medicines you may be worrying about whether you'll be fine or not and that may be leading to aggravation of your problems.
Talk to your doctor about it and al...more

Dear Lybrate-User,
escitalopram and clomipramine can cause ed. You have to compromise between ocd/depression and ed. Which is better for your quality of life. Are you married? Are you planning to have a child? If so and if you are having benefit with these drugs, you can try sildenafil for sexual intercourse. Please discuss with the same doctor treating ocd. No need to consult sexologist unless referred.

Alprazolam on a longer run is dangerous and causes serious side effects. It is good to switch to escitalopram and clonazepam, but some develop heaviness as you said. You can discuss with your psychiatrist and change to better medications, which control anxiety well without heavy head. All the best.

Are you taking these with regular psychiatrist review, or on your own. As these come under medications which require regular review for side effects, resistance and other issues. Kindly consult a nearby psychiatrist and get it revised. Clonazepam 1 mg for long can produce severe long term issues like brain shrinkage, cognitive deficits, personality changes etc.
