Dear lybrate-user,
have faith in your psychiatrist. Try it out for 3-6 weeks. If it helps, it is a good treatment.

Dear Lybrate-User,
please consult the psychiatrist who prescribed it to her. If it is with suicidal intent, the psychiatrist may add another drug/ect/therapy/admission to hospital. If it is impulsive, she/he may discuss this issue in therapy. Observe her, if any symptoms come up, take her to hospital for symptomatic treatment.

Dear Abhrajit,
Stalopam plus contains escitalopram and clonazepam. Stop stalopam plus and take stalopam 10 mg for 2-3 weeks. If okay, take stalopam 5 mg for another 2-3 weeks and stop. Remember stopping clonazepam will be more difficult than stopping escitalopram. All the best in your PG

Thanks for putting up your query. Relapses suggest that the illness is not completely addressed or illness is progressive. Also depends forte contains escitalopram and clonazepam, and clonazepam being 'needed' for such a long time means illness is not completely addressed. Please discuss all issues with your doctor on follow up.
