A change in diet can help keep the stools regular and soft.
Eat more fiber, such as fruit and vegetables like carrot, cucumber, sprouts, and switching your cereal breakfast to bran. Water is the best drink, so increase water consumption. Take 2-3 litres per day
And avoid caffeine. Taking fibrous diet will reduce the incidence and severity of constipation. Include ¼ Papaya in your diet daily.
Drink warm milk at night continue to do yoga
take early morning luke warm water with hone...more

My 4 year old daughter has suffered with severe chronic constipation since birth. When she was born she was admitted in the neonatal for 9 days due to abdominal distention, feed intolerance, suspected sepsis, vomiting bright green bile and Meconium Ileus. She did not pass her meconium for 33 hours and it was passed due to a paediatrician giving her a suppository. It's now getting worse as she is getting older. She suffers with abdominal distention, leakages, agonising pain, passing a lot of gas and cannot walk sometimes due to the pain. She has been on 5 different laxatives (lactulose, movicol, docusate, sodium picosulfate and sennakot) now of them have worked and she has also had 2 enemas that did not work also. She has had a biopsy done for Hirschsprung's disease and it came back normal and all her bloods are normal as well. She is missing a lot of school due to this and her doctors don't seem to think it's serious but after all the medication she's had I think differently. She used to pass a stool and get some relief for a few weeks now it's just days till the pain starts all over again like she isn't getting any relief at all anymore. It can be 3 weeks before she passes a stool. I've done some research and seen that meconium ileus can be related to cystic fibrosis and I've seen that you can have it in the digestive system also. Could this be a possibility for her?

It is really strange for me to understand how she is tolerating absolute constipation for 3 weeks. It is advisable to get her thoroughly checked in good teaching institutions like AIIMS/PGI Chandigarh etc.

The dose for adults is 2-4 capsules or 5-10 ml of liquid. Take the capsules with a drink of water to help you swallow. Sodium picosulfate takes about 6-12 hours to work; therefore, it is best taken at bedtime.

I was suffering from anal chronic fissure and anal skin tag, after treatment for around 3 weeks from my gp, I was not getting relief so I decided to go to the gastroenterologist. Initially he told that it is fissure and gave me medicines like levocet, looz Fibre powder, cremalax, and anometrogyl cream which was to be inserted in the anus. He told me to come after 10 days. Today I again went to gastroenterologist, he asked me about the pain. I told pain has reduced much, but sometimes after my bowel movement the skin tag comes out and it pains. This don't happen everyday but only when I feel constipation. Then he again inspected my anus and told that there is no option for anal tag even though fissure has healed a lot. Anal tag will be disturbing you in the future also. He has given in writing that you will need surgery for anal inflamed tag excision and small anocutaneous fistula pus cast. I asked him after how many days I can go to office. He told after 7 days. He told even if you are not having much pain now. You have no option in future for anal tag other than surgery. He also told to take time and think about whether to go for surgery or not. I am scared and didn't know what to do. Also I will not be able to take long leave from office as I had just joined the company. Anyone please help give me description detail of my problem, how much pain after surgery, surgery process, which surgery homeopathic or ayurvedic, or laser to prefer. The doctor had told it is medium surgery. But I don't know how it will be. Only have heard that there is lot of pain after surgery.

Primary symptoms of chronic anal fissure with sentinel anal skin tag is varied degrees anal pain with burning. Anal pain may be felt at any time in 24 hrs but mostly after passing stool. No conservative measure can give cure. Only surgical treatment can give permanent relief.
Operative procedure is simple & takes only 15-20 minutes. Very rewarding result. Need to avail 2-3 days leave. So go ahead & get surgery done at an early date.
