Telmisartan plus Amlodepine (TELMA AM) is a good and safe combination. The other tablet mentioned is Losartan + Hydrochlothiazide. That too is good. Doctor must have changed to newer drug for getting better control. But if she is not comfortable with that, she can take the earlier combination. Thanks.

YOu are on a good combination pill ad if there is no reason to change it you can continue it. Trilosar 6.25 mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Losartan, Amlodipine and Chlorthalidone. Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB). They work by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure. It is good to see that both BP and blood glucose are fairly well controlled. Increase in microalbuminuria and creatinine suggests that kidney are getting affected mostly due to diabetes.
One of the group of drugs recommended for hypertension with diabetes is ACE-Inhibitors like Lisinopril, Enalepri or ARBs like Losartan, Telmisartan or Olmesartan etc. Thanks.
