My mother 75 years old prediabetes and hypertensive has been scratched on her thigh by our cat .out cat is updated on her rabies vaccine. Though my mother has been fully immunised with arv previously, she has decided to take 3 booster arv shots on recommendation of the family pharmacist. On 5th feb she took 1st arv abhayrab and tt shot. Wound has been cleaned properly with water and soap and betadine. The pharmacist asked her to take ceftum 500 antibiotic one tablet for 6 days? Should the antibiotic be given to her?

I'm 47 years old and 7 years before menopause. Now burning sensation in urine passing area and some time vaginal and pain anus all are from 2 weeks. Ultrasound scan report is normal. Impression is post void residual urine 29 cc. Urine routine is normal. I completed ceftum250 mg 4 tablet and feronum200 mg 5 tablet. Now onabet b cream night and morning 4 days completed. Can I apply ky gel lubricant for 1 week. The symptoms (burning) didn't go away. I go for urine culture. My decision is correct please answer me.

Hi, the burning is due to the drying and thinning of vagina after menopause (vaginal atrophy). It can be treated with Premarin cream (contains hormone estrogen).You can apply 0.5g of the cream vaginally twice weekly for 12 weeks and repeat the cycle every 6 monthly.

Hi, my mother 50 years old. She did ursl on 2 august. She placed stent on kidney to bladder. Now she taking urispas 2 days 2 per day, ceftum 250 mg 4 days 2 per day and dolo 650 mg. Today started sharpe and burning on bladder and urine passing area. And feeling urine frequent symptoms little bit. 7 august night urine colour like blood not to much, not clots and not flesh. This is normal? Or anything wrong please tell to me answer. Thank you.

My mother have left lung cystic fibrosis since 30 years & 4 months back she was treated with bronchial artery embolization for bloody sputum. Now she has mild throat pain since 20 days only in drinking water and swallowing saliva, but not in eating anything. She was diagnosed with granular pharyngitis, doctor gives different antibiotics moxclav / ceftum. But there is no change in her mild throat pain since 20 days. Ent Dr. Told there is no sign of cancer, but there are granules all over in neck. I want to know since already 20 days had passed, so how long will it take to recover from this throat pain.

Granules all over neck or throat? If throat, betadine mouth gargle might help her. She might also need a good course of antibiotics. But if granules on neck, please plan either fnac or biopsy.

Symptoms: lot of cough, fever around 99-100 degrees (f) weight: 81 kg, ht-5.7 the physician has specified following medication tab ceftum 500 mg 1-0-1 syp ascoril sugar free, 5 ml 1-1-1 1 week tab deriphyllin retard 150 mg 0-0-1 8 days tab dolo 650 1 sos is this the correct medicine? How long does it take to recover fully. Kindly suggest any foods needs to be avoided and additional medication if needed. Thank you very much.

Antibiotics should be continued for 10-14 days depending upon your clinical condition. Bibasal pneumonia means involvement of both lungs. So treatment duration is more.

Hello,
it is difficult to say the exact cause of pain without more details from you. Post fever chest pain can be due to pleuritis or pericarditis that is inflammation of outer covering of your chest organs. It can also be due to gastric reflux and hyperacidity owing to the antacids being taken during illness. If you had cough then this pain could be muscular secondary to frequent coughing. I hope I am clear.

I have 3 months old baby. Currently I am suffering from breast inflammation which is making more difficult for me to feed. I started formula feed to baby. Right now I am taking antibiotics i.e augment 625 and ceftum 500. Already I had breast abscess surgery for right side, now I have same symptoms for left side which is starting stage. What remedies I can take to reduce that and can I take lactation food to increase my breast milk, I have very low milk supply. Will it increase infection if I use breast pump to remove milk.

My wife is 9th week pregnant. She is suffering uti with staphylococcus aureus bacteria level (++++).in sensitivity test we found cefuroxime highly sensitive (+++). Doctor prescribed cefakind 250 bd for 5 days. We did it, and performed a routine microscopy of urine, but the bacteria was still there level (+), doctor advised to take cefakind 250 for 2 more days, we again did it and further performed a urine test but bacteria is still present. Symptoms are lower back pain, pelvic pain, burning while urinating, but no fever no chills. My question is that can she take cefakind 250 bd continuously for 14 days in pregnancy. Because as per my understanding s. Aureus takes more days in treatment than e. Coli. Before treatment pus cells was 4-6/hpf epithelial cells was 18-20/hpf, rbc's was 1-2/hpf, bacteria ++++, after treatment pus cells 1-2/hpf, epithelial cells 2-4/hpf, rbc's nil, bacteria present.

My son is 4 months old for one month he is suffering from frequent urination. The first doctor gave taxim o drops for five days after that he went for an ultrasound. It was debris in urinary bladder with internal echoes he also got klebsiella oxytoca in culture. Then the doctor wrote amikacin and cefuroxime injections. But we don't go for injections as my boy had no fever vomiting or weight loss. We changed the doctor and the other doctor wrote zifi drops. We used it for 10 days. But the urine frequency is 30 mins now. He referred to a nephrologist. He got his mcug test done which is normal. The doctor advised sporidex for one-half month after which he suggested dmsa scan. We are using sporidex now 0.5 ml. Now the baby stream is low sometimes and normal sometimes but the output is reduced. Frequency is the same. Complete urinalysis is 3 -4 pus cells always. Is it normal?
