Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. No medicine should not be give 100 percent safe! don't be completely depends on (medication). Please improves your d3 levels, iron, magnesium, zinc, phosphorous, b complex, etc, please concentrate your diet. Compulsory change your diatory habits. I have not seen your MRI . If a cartilage charting shows there is a defect on the cartilage then an arthroscopy is better to treat that defect. Depending on the size of the defect the treatment is biased. The pain is only immediate. If a definite defect is there then it needs to be treated otherwise will lead to early osteoarthritis
