Low blood pressure is an abnormal condition where a person’s blood pressure (the pressure of the blood against the walls of the blood vessels during and after each beat of the heart) is much lower than usual, which can cause symptoms such as dizziness or vertigo.
Conditions that reduce the volume of blood, reduce cardiac output (the amount of blood pumped by the heart), and medications are frequent causes of low blood pressure.

Blood pressure is a tendency - not a disease. It gives rise to diseases- heart diseases, kidney diseases, stroke - can all happen with high blood pressure. The medicine is to control your bp and please remember that once your tendency of high bp has developed then it will remain for life. Hence to curb this tendency - the medicine is to be taken for life.

Hello, thanks for the query.
Bp 170/80 mm hg is showing very high systolic bp. This should be around 130 mm hg. It is clear that taking only telmisartan 40 mg, is not sufficient. There has to be another drug added for better control of the systolic pressure. So it is better to consult her physician and get a specific prescription. There are many options available. In this communication we are supposed to give only general guidelines, no prescriptions can be given. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query.
For taking telmisartan with amlodipine, there is no specific instruction as to be taken only in the morning or before food or with food. Only thing is to take it regularly at a specific time every day. Similarly, fasting also will have no effect on taking it in the morning. Thanks.
