It's very essential to have a blood sugar level that can be controlled by oral medicines. If you're taking insulin it means your sugar is not under control. Get hba1c levels checked and also fasting and post prandial blood sugars at regular intervals. If the range is coming at an acceptable level you can be put on oral medicines.

Which Huminsulin, is it premix, or Long acting, it depends on that. Because Apidra is short acting meal time insulin. I assume that Huminsulin is long acting N preparation, if that is the case, still your lunch time insulin cover may not be there. If your blood sugars and HbA1c is under control and they are no episodes of hypoglycemia that is low blood sugar, it is fine. For further queries book an appointment.

Hello, please continue with insulin as doctor prescribed. If there is a possibility, doctor should have suggested the medicine instead. Its good to control your diabetes. But along with medication, you need to concentrate on food also. Make sure you food must have high protein, fiber and omega-3 nutrition.
