Infertility In Women - Homeopathic Treatment For It!

Homeopath, Mumbai
Infertility In Women - Homeopathic Treatment For It!

For a married couple, having a child is the next step to completing the family picture. However, for various reasons, some attributed to the male and some to the female, this picture remains incomplete.
Talking to a doctor is one of the best starting points. There could be deep-rooted causes for this issue, and homeopathy aims in treating the root cause and not just infertility. A good homeopath will ask you numerous questions to find out associated symptoms, family history, etc., and then arrive at a remedy that would work best for you. This is a highly customised therapy and so self-medication based on a friend or family member’s recommendation is best avoided.

Infertility in females is often caused by the following reasons:

  1. Irregular menstruation
  2. Hormonal imbalance
  3. Advancing age
  4. Emotional stress
  5. Obesity
  6. Excessive smoking
  7. Alcohol consumption
  8. Sexually transmitted diseases (Chlamydia, gonorrhoea)
  9. Structural abnormalities in the pelvic area including fibroids, pelvic adhesions, blocked fallopian tubes, etc.
  10. Endometriosis
  11. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  12. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
  13. Thyroid disorders
  14. Diabetes

With more and more women coming out in the open to discuss, researchers have started working towards identifying the problem and working towards the treatment. The success rate of homeopathy in treating infertility is also on the rise. As with any medical condition, homeopathy treats not just the problem or symptom at hand, but the person holistically. Read on to know some of the common homeopathic remedies, but make sure you have a detailed discussion with doctor to identify what would work best for you. Self-medication is best avoided.

  1. In women with reduced sexual drive, Agnus and Sepia are widely used. The vaginal is extremely dry which could be painful during sex. There is also a bearing down sensation of the uterus in these women.
  2. In women with reduced menstruation, Pulsatilla and Sepia are widely used. The periods are never on the expected date, and when they occur, the flow is quite scanty and suppressed. Pulsatilla is also used when ovarian cysts are present. Sepia is useful in women that are prone to miscarriages.
  3. In women with excessive menstruation, Calcarea and Aletris are widely used. The periods happen before time, is too long with profuse bleeding. This excessive bleeding also causes anaemia, weakness, and fatigue. These women might also have frequent abortions.
  4. In women who have experienced a miscarriage in their third month earlier, with uterine and ovarian inflammation, Sabina is used.
  5. In women who are not able to retain sperms, Natrum carb is useful. There could be an offensive smelling vaginal discharge which is also very irritating and itching.

These are just some of the common remedies, but there are more, and each patient would require different therapy based on associated symptoms.

Vaishnaviji, For treating hypothyroidism are taking thyroxine tablets regularly in prescribed dosage? If hypothyroidism is not controlled then cold intolerance is quite common. Plus feeling of weakness and early fatigue also occur and there may constant increase in weight. I am sure you are following the instructions given regarding dosing of thyroxine tablets, it must be taken early morning on empty stomach, there after nothing to be taken for 2 hours. This has to be meticulously adhered to. Plus avoid soya beans, soya containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, mustard, peanuts and coffee. Consume more green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Use whole grain flour for making chapati and rotl. Plus exercise regularly that will increase your fitness level. If you have any doubts please come in a private conversation where I will be able to give specific guidelines.

You can take Nutrient-rich foods that improve your health may also benefit your thyroid gland, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables more plenty of water: Blueberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and other foods rich in antioxidants can improve overall health and benefit the thyroid gland. Eating foods high in B vitamins, like whole grains, may also help. Selenium: Tiny amounts of selenium are needed for enzymes that make thyroid hormones to work properly. Eating selenium-rich foods, such as sunflower seeds or Brazil nuts, can be beneficial. Tyrosine: This amino acid is used by the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4. Taking a supplement may help, avoid oily foods, junk foods, go for walk. Tests every 3 to 6 months.

What is your bmi? it has to be nearer 23 kgs per sq meter. Anything above 25 is over weight and above 30 is obesity. You have not mentioned sugar levels. Walking 30 mins is not enough, it has to be more than 1 h. Caloric intake has to be monitored. Please remember even if one reduces 1 or 3 kgs it helps.

Thyroid gland affects nearly every organ in the body. Many nutritional factors play a role in optimizing thyroid function. However, both nutrient deficiencies and excesses can trigger or exacerbate symptoms. Working in collaboration with a both a physician and a registered dietitian is essential to determine nutritional status for optimal thyroid health. Improper thyroid function causes undesired weight changes, significant cardiovascular risks, and symptoms such as fatigue, mood changes, and gastrointestinal upset, which can hinder the development of healthful behaviors. I focus on setting realistic goals for healthy changes and regular exercise when counseling clients. There many potential nutrient deficiencies and interactions with medications and supplements. Hence diligent care is to be taken while designing a holistic treatment plan. I being a both a registered dietitian and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. Hello, I'm 26 years from bangalore, I recently done my blood check, and found that Thyroid TSH value 7.19, and kidney CREATININE-SERUM value 1.3 (0.6-1.1 normal value. Is this parameter normal? Please give me a feed back. Thanks in advance.

MBBS, DNB (General Medicine)
Endocrinologist, Delhi
Your TSH value is 7.19 and its definitely out of range. If your report had been greater than 10 - then I would have recommended you to start treatment with thyroid replacement medicines straight-away but the guideline for treatment in your case where TSH is less than 10 is to correlate with another test with the name of ANTI-TPO. If ANTI-TPO is also way above range then you definitely need treatment for hypothyroidism. Your serum Creatinine is 1.3. Its not a cause for worry. Amongst the parameters tested in KFT it is Serum creatinine that is most commonly focussed by both doctors and patients. Serum creatinine is a byproduct of protein metabolism in the body. It's normal values differs for ages, for sex and for your body state of health. Hence unless it is very much out of range you don't needy to worry much because at low levels it fluctuates.

My mother is 84 years old, is under severe depression. She is presently having Dayo-OD (250 mg) - 1BD, Tolaz MD 2.5 mg, Censpram 10 mg.advice on this please

M. S. in Psychotherapy and Counselling
Psychologist, Jaipur
hi, I can understand your feelings. I think here your mother's age to be blamed for her depression. In India most of the senior citizens just leave the hope for living because of their weak physical health and thus make themselves mentally and physically weak too. Try to make her happy by providing the atmosphere which she likes. You may invite someone whom she likes to talk to. Provide her with the food which she likes. Don't restrict her to eat . let her move on her own just keep an eye so that she doesn't fall. Put some nice music which she enjoys. Take her to the places like temple or satsang where she used to go when she was well. Tell other family members also to talk to her nicely. Take photographs with her. In short do all the activities which include laughter and happiness. Best wishes for you. regards Sunita

Gynaecologist, Noida
The average blood sugar rises gradually and as it rises there is damage occurring throughout the body. Out of control blood sugar levels can lead to serious short term problems such as hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, or diabetic ketoacidosis.

In the long run, uncontrolled blood sugar can also damage the vessels that supply blood to important organs, like the heart, kidneys, eyes, and nerves. This can occur even when you feel OK. That's why it's so important to take action as soon as you're diagnosed with diabetes. Our bodies are amazing, but unfortunately once you have a heart attack or stroke, or your kidneys fail, or you become blind, the damage cant be undone.

The good news is that paying attention to blood sugar control can help keep you healthy and prevent health problems from happening later. Some tips -

1) Keep your blood glucose within your goal range as much as possible. Work with your diabetes team to develop and maintain a plan.

2) Take your diabetes medication as prescribed. If you're on insulin, ask to see a diabetes educator to learn how to adjust your dose.

3) Increase physical activity. If you aren't physically active, talk to your health care provider about suitable activities. If you haven't exercised in a while, consider beginning with five to ten minutes of daily physical activity and gradually increase your activity to at least 30 minutes of physical activity most days of the week.

4) Achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Even a 5 percent to 7 percent weight loss will help you better manage your blood glucose.

The quality of your future life depends on the decisions and actions that you take today.

Hi doctor, can you pls tell me, if I am taking thyronorm 25 every day. What is the right way to take thyronorm 25? I mean empty stomach and with a full glass of water or can be taken with little water for better results? please tell me sir.

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Hi , the amount of water will not have an impact on the end result' although as perhaps recommended by your doctor, best to have the thyroid medication first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Work on your lifestyle--eat healthy meals, workout consistently and plug problematic behaviors. Doing this will ensure that your medication strength doesn't have to be increased. In fact, with the assistance and aid of your physician, you could even lower it if you manage to successfully increase your body's thyroid hormone function. Hope this helps. .
