Hello doctor my fasting glucose levels are 110 mg/dl and after 2 hours of eating 140 mg/dl is this normal or I have d...
Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query Fasting 110 mg & PP 140 mg are at the upper limit of normal. Fasting :Normal: 70 to 110 mg PP:<140 mg / 100 ml. However, now a days 108 to 125 mg fasting is considered as Prediabetes. Also is called as Impaired fasting glucose. PP: 141 to 199 mg is called as Prediabetic or Impaired Glucose Intolerance (IGT). This means a person is likely to develop diabetes in near future, that is in next few months to some years. Considerung these facts you are at the borderline. The things which are likely to contribute to the development of franc diabetes are being over weight, having a family history, not exercising regularly and eating junk foods, taking colas. In your case with a BMI of 28.32 kgs /M2 (normal <23 kgs), you are more close to be an obese person. This can be a major contributor to wards developing diabetes. Your ideal body weight should be about 83 kgs. Thanks.

TSH =0.16 DOSE eltroxin 100 and 112.5 alternate day .WHAT DOSE should I take now.

TSH =0.16 DOSE eltroxin 100 and 112.5 alternate day .WHAT DOSE should I take now.
Hello, Thanks for the query. With TSH at 0.16 mU/L, you need to reduce the dose to 100 mcg per day, then check TSH after 6 to 8 weeks. If TSH remains at around 3 mU/L, then continue the same. If the level is still lower than 1 mU/L then reduce the dose further to 87.5 mcg per day. Thanks.

Mr Balakrishna, If your blood sugar is in good control (fasting close to 100 mg and PP around 160 mg/100 ml and HbA1c <7%), then consume good deal of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits about 100 g a day. Avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Avoid red meat and egg yolk. Always use whole grain flour for making roti and chapati, no maida. Avoid high fat cheese, butter, ghee and other saturated fats. In addition exercise regularly for 1 hour a day or more. Avoid smoking and alcohol completely.
