Fatty liver is usually accompanied with dyslipidemia and avoiding saturated fats helps in both conditions. Cut down intake of ghee butter cream cheese egg yolk & organ meats. Add fresh vegetables as salads, soups and fresh fibrous fruits like apple orange anar berries. Fluid intake is very important to detoxify the liver so maintain intake of plain water, along with buttermilk, coconut water, lemon water.

Hye, thanks for the query. Your weight is a balance of calories. Fad diets may promise you that counting carbs or eating a mountain of fruits will make the fats drop. But when it comes to weight loss, it's sensible eating that counts. Weight loss comes down to burning more calories than you take in. You can do that by reducing extra calories from food and beverages, and increasing calories burned through physical activity. Understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Take smaller main meals. Take a glass of lime water 10minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. All the so called fad, crash, restricted diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, don't forget the bottom line: The key to successful weight loss is a commitment to making indefinite changes in your diet and exercise habits.

Hi, my husband met an accident last year and he got deep cut in his artery of left hand wrist at the base of thumb. It was operated and there are 7-8 stitches. Now sometimes he has pain in his whole hand starts from shoulder to wrist. Is it becoz he is fitness freak nd does weight lifting in gym? Please advise.

Why Massaging Your Body Is Important?

In order to know the benefits of abhangya, it is important to understand what exactly abhangya is. We do, at times, massage ourselves unconsciously. However, the practice of massaging oneself from head to toe with nice and warm oil lovingly is known as abhangya. According to Ayurveda, like being loved by another person, abhangya too provides individuals with a deep sense of stability. Ayurveda states that daily practice of abhangya helps in restoring the balance between the three doshas of our body - the pitta dosha, kapha dosha and vata dosha.

Ayurveda states that the individuals who practice this self massage technique regularly become vey less affected and even less subjected to accidental injuries. These individuals also tend to become charming and very less affected by age. Now that we have discussed a bit of what abhangya is, here is a list of the benefits that come with it. 

  1. This self massage technique helps in nourishing the body and slowing down the ageing process considerably.
  2. This technique helps is bestowing individuals with good vision.
  3. This process helps in stimulating the internal body organs and increases and improves blood circulation. This results in lesser blood pressure and a healthier body.
  4. This technique helps in imparting a sort of firmness to the limbs and hands, thereby strengthening the body’s tolerance.
  5. This technique also benefits the skin. Well, the thing about our body is each organ in our body is interrelated with each other. So when any one organ starts working perfectly, everything else follows suit. It has been seen that this technique helps impart a sort of tone and vigour to the tissues of the body itself.
  6. Abhangya helps pacify the vata and the pitta doshas.
  7. If applied to the scalp, it helps in growing luxurious, soft, thick and really glossy hair.
  8. This is also said to reduce wrinkles on the face.
  9. When applied to the ears, stiffness of neck and jaw can be eased.

We have discussed how this practice benefits us, but here are some of the situations when we aren’t supposed to perform abhangya.

  1. During menstrual cycle
  2. During pregnancy
  3. In swollen or painful areas
  4. Over skin that has any sort of rash or infection
  5. During any acute illnesses
  6. During any health condition until and unless the doctor said that it was perfectly fine to do abhangya

To gain weight you need to combine a balanced eating pattern with regular physical activity. You should be eating at least 6 small meals a day, rather than sticking to 3 square meals. You could divide it as 3 main meals and 3 snacks. You need to be eating every 2-3 hours. Space out snacks during the day so you don't spoil your appetite. Bread, cereal, rice, whole wheat, dalia and pasta: biscuits, and corn-bread are good sources of carbohydrates. Fruits: dried fruits, fruit nectars, and large quantities of fresh fruits vegetables: include, potatoes, peas, corn in your diet. Meat, poultry, fish, dry beans, eggs, and nuts: beef, pork, lamb, poultry, salmon, omelets, nuts, peanut butter, kidney beans, chickpeas will help you gain weight. Include dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese: milk, fruited yogurts, hard cheeses, ice cream, puddings, custards, milkshakes. -nuts and seeds make a healthy option for snacks. -roasted channas and peanuts are good -peanut butter on the sandwiches are a great mid-meal choice. -you must know that cereals actually contain some healthy calories. Stay hydrated: drinking plenty of water and other fluids like juices, milk, soups etc, will work in your favour. Do not drink water before a meal and in between the meal as it may make you lose your appetite, thus calorie intake suffers. Sleep: at least 8 hours of sound sleep is a must. Since your body is actually building up muscles, while you rest. Weight gainers have long term side effects.

There are various exercises to increase the cheeks. One of them is: Stick one of your fingers in your mouth and close your lips around it. Suck on your finger for five seconds as hard as you can while sucking in your cheeks. Release, and repeat 15 more times. This will help strengthen your cheek muscles and enhance the circulation and oxygen flow to your face, so your cheeks look more pink and full.

After delivery food intake should be increased.Take plenty of fruits and vegetables,unrefined foods.Use nutritional supplement.Eat fish,egg,skimmed milk,soy milk,soy product,mushroom,tofu.Add fats like olive,coconut,fish oil in cooking.Avoid fast foods,junk foods.Take nuts and seeds.Drink plenty of water but not during meals.Do regular free hand exercise.Take proper stress free rest.

Weight loss has two components: 1. Healthy balanced diet 2. Exercise Follow the following tips:- · Pay close attention to your food choice. · Eat less carbohydrate food sources like chapatti, rice, noodles, pasta, bread etc as they help in gaining weight and storing fat. · While having lunch or dinner eat vegetables and dal to fill your stomach rather eating lots of chapattis or rice. · Have a healthy breakfast like poha, idli, upma, plain dosa, oats, dalia or khichdi with vegetables. · Eat a balance diet including good quality proteins like: fish, lean chicken and eggs. If you are a vegetarian then include skimmed milk, low fat paneer, butter milk, soy bean or soy milk in your diet. · Avoid ghee, butter or vanaspati. Prepare your diet with vegetable oil like sunflower, safflower soybean or olive oil. · Eat plenty of salads. · Eat fresh fruits including apple, orange, pineapple, papaya, sweet lime, berries, guava, watermelon, mask melon etc. · Avoid eating outside junk and fried foods like pizza, pasta, roll, burgers, cakes, chocolates and cookies. · Have an early dinner. The earlier the better, giving your system more time to digest the food. · Avoid cold drinks/alcohol as they add empty calories to your diet. · Avoid fat enriched milk products like cheese, sweets, full fat cream etc. · Drink 3 liters of water in a day. · Try to have less sugar in food and beverages. · Try to drink 2 cups of green tea in a day as green tea helps in weight loss by aiding digestion. · Avoid red meat like mutton, beef, lamb or pork. · Eat sprouts or roasted chana, whenever you feel hungry. Exercise: Combination of cardio-vascular exercises and weight training can bring effective weight loss along with the diet. Running, jogging, cycling, swimming and dancing are some best forms of cardio-vascular exercises which burn fat instantly. Working out with dumbbells, push-ups, pull-ups, weight lifting are the exercises which help to tighten the loose muscles and shape your body.

Few diet tips - Not to eat fried food items and Can eat All green vegetables, moong , chana , Dal , rice etc And to apply ghee over chappati and don't apply oil over chappati And to drink milk mixed with turmeric powder twice a day And If possible eat eggs on alternate days And If possible in breakfast eat atleast one bajra ka rotla And Eat seasonal fruit

Diet and lack of exercise are the two most important factors that contribute to obesity. Hello, these are the home remedies:- 1. Garlic gives good results when it comes to cervical spondylosis symptoms. Its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties help treat pain, swelling and inflammation in the neck and surrounding areas. Eat a couple of raw garlic buds on an empty stomach each morning with water. You can also take garlic capsules but only after consulting your doctor. Another option is to heat 2 to 3 crushed garlic cloves in a pan with some vegetable oil. Allow it to cool, then use it to massage the painful area for 5 to 10 minutes. Follow this with a warm bath. Do this 2 times daily. Take Hypericum 1X , 2 tabs twice daily with warm water. Revert me after 7 days.

Get your hb level checked as also cholesterol / lipids to ascertain any cv disease in the offing. In case of chest heaviness, though you haven't mentioned, get ecg done at cardiologist. The first home treatment that is highly recommended is ice. Ice will help constrict the blood vessels, reduce swelling and give you immediate pain relief. •Apply an icepack or a partially melted piece of ice wrapped in a cloth directly on the affected area for about 10 minutes. Do this several times a day until the hemorrhoid goes away. •You can even use a small pack of frozen vegetables such as peas or corn. Wrap the pack in a tea towel and then apply it on the hemorrhoid. Do this for 20 minutes at a time, three times a day. Keep bowels clear Take balance diet always. Take Nux vom 30 - twice daily for next 2 weeks report weekly.

Hello doctor, I am 34 years old guy, I came to know that I have sugar 4 months back, it was pp 246 and fasting 146, hba1c was 7.8, I controlled my diet and took fenugreek seeds, paneer ke phool for 3 months and checked again, it came hba1c 6.1, fasting 79 and pp 159. But still some times my sugar level goes beyond 200 if I eat more. I am puzzled because I am going to gym and my instructor told me that I have to eat more fat. As my weight reduced almost 6 kgs. I want to increase my weight as well as my want to live sugar free with ayurvedic medicine only. Please provide the solution for my problem. There is no issue with my energy level.

Hi, You haven't mentioned your body weight and your profession. You are suffering from impaired glucose tolerance. So if you keep your body weight in normal range and eat diet rich in fiber, do regular exercises you may keep your sugar levels in normal range. Its a progressive disease one day things will reach to stage that you will have to take medicine. In case if you are a case of diabetes type one that means you will need insulin to control your sugar. Those patient who are type one diabetes they may loose weight due to deficiency of insulin. Actually your doctor should measure your insulin levels.

A fruit everyday is all right. Do not eat fruit with any of your meals. Avoid bananas, chikoos grapes and other such sweet fruits.
