Fertilization treatment – whether IVF or IUI, ZIFT or GIFT – is a complex form of treatment that is used to treat infertility problems in couples and helping in assisted conception. This form of assisted reproductive treatment (ART) is widely practised by gynaecologists across the globe.
Any type of artificial fertilization treatment, whatsoever, involves monitoring a woman's ovulatory process, manually collecting matured eggs from her ovary, and getting it fertilized by sperm in a laboratory. Fertilised eggs are kept under close observation before transferring the same to the woman's uterus, thus marking the onset of a successful pregnancy. The fertilization process can either happen using the egg and the sperm of would-be parents, or by using donor eggs and sperms. Speaking about the IVF success rate, the same depends on a number of factors like the age of woman, reasons for being infertile, the quality of the egg and sperm, etc.
In spite of being such an expensive form of treatment, couples and gynaecologists these days, prefer to go with any form of artificial fertilization treatment, as these forms of treatments are the last stop in the infertility track. However, the IVF form of treatment is preferred over the other modes of infertility cures as this process works when all other infertility treatments fail. It can be used by anybody – would-be mother, surrogates, and gestational mothers. Additionally, it increases the chances of giving birth to a healthy baby by eliminating all possibilities of having a miscarriage.
