Hello, seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that mainly affects your scalp. It causes scaly patches, red skin and stubborn dandruff. Seborrheic dermatitis can also affect oily areas of the body, such as the face, upper chest and back. Seborrheic dermatitis is also called dandruff, seborrheic eczema and seborrheic psoriasis. It isn't contagious, and it's not a sign of poor personal hygiene. Few self-care tips can help you control and manage seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff): soften and remove scales from your hair. Apply mineral oil or olive oil to your scalp. Leave it in for an hour or so. Then comb or brush your hair and wash it. Wash your skin regularly. Rinse the soap completely off your body and scalp. Avoid harsh soaps and use a moisturizer. Avoid products that contain alcohol. These can cause the disease to flare up. Wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. This helps keep air circulating around your skin and reduces irritation. If you have a beard or mustache, consider shaving it off. Seborrheic dermatitis can be worse under mustaches and beards. If this is the case for you, shaving might ease your symptoms. Avoid scratching. Scratching can increase irritation and your risk of infection. Gently clean your eyelids. If your eyelids show signs of redness or scaling, wash them each night with baby shampoo and wipe away scales with a cotton swab. Warm or hot compresses also may help. Use lukewarm water for head wash. Medication: take homoeopathic medicines - schwabe's badiaga 200, wiesbaden 200 & alfalfa tonic - all of them twice a day for 3 months first and give your feedback. Use schwabe's anti-dandruff shampoo and anti-dandruff oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use bakson's arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, you can take one tablet of multivitamin folli hair once daily for 1 month.

How to get rid of from the side effects of betnovate cream, which resulted in facial hair growth and lots and lots of pimples in face, neck and shoulder?

MBBS, Diploma in Venerology & Dermatology (DVD)
Dermatologist, Delhi
How to get rid of from the side effects of betnovate cream, which resulted in facial hair growth and lots and lots of...
Betnovate, MMS cream, Cortizone are all topical corticosteroids used for treating infection, inflammation and irritation. But they can be terribly habit-forming. Betnovate / MMS should not be used for more than 5 days. In India, Betnovate is being foolishly misused as a fairness cream. Prolonged use of these steroid creams can cause abnormal thinning of skin, rashes, whitish pale skin, stretch marks, excessive hair growth and visible veins on the face. When you try to stop using Betnovate or similar creams, you experience withdrawal symptoms like itchy rashes, pimples, blisters, depression, fatigue, body ache. So you cannot stop using Betnovate suddenly. To get rid of this addiction, it is advised to slowly reduce the amount of steroid cream by using a lower and lower concentration over a period of time. You can try mixing the steroid cream in a gentle emollient cream and using less and less of the steroid cream in this mix. Steroid creams affect your body's natural cortisone production. Slow withdrawal of cortisone will allow your body to slowly return to its natural levels. In fact, it is best to consult a dermatologist for this matter. They will likely prescribe a milder steroid cream to replace this one. Using a milder version will help you to slowly stop using Betnovate altogether.

Hello, it might be ingrown hair that is causing. Too much waxing or shaving can cause it. Use salicilic acid face wash to wash your legs with hot water. Avoid waxing or shaving for a few days.

How to prevent the pimples on face and I am getting water bubbles on my hands. How to prevent these water bubbles?

BHMS
Homeopath, Murshidabad
How to prevent the pimples on face and I am getting water bubbles on my hands. How to prevent these water bubbles?
Dear lybrate user, pimples/ acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory skin disease which develops due to blocking of the hair follicles in skin. These blockages occur due to 4 abnormal processes: 1) excess sebum production due to androgens 2) excessive deposition of the protein keratin leading to comedone formation 3) infection of propionibacterium acnes (p. Acnes) bacteria on the hair follicles 4) local release of pro-inflammatory chemicals in the skin. Neither can you stop the overproduction of androgen or keratin protein nor can you stop the release of pro-inflammatory chemicals because all these processes takes place internally in your skin. However you can stop the accumulation of p. Acnes bacteria on your skin by preventing your skin from getting oily. Always keep a handkerchief with you wherever you go outside. You should wipe off the slightest amount of sweat from your face as soon as you perspire on entering your room from outside wash your face with an oil-free, non-moisturizing face wash. Take a low carbohydrate diet. Do some exercise daily. Drink a lots of water to avoid constipation. Avoid pricking the pimples or popping the sebum as it may lead to black pigmentation & permanent scar formation. You can also take homoeopathic calcarea phos 200, 5 drops, thrice daily, in empty stomach also you can apply homoeopathic mother tincture berberis aquifolium q on the dark spots on your skin which are produced after the resolution of the pimples.
