You normally take progesterone for 7 days and then stop. Periods should come by the next 7 days. However as you are anaemic it might be an important cause of problems with periods. So you should be investigated for anaemia and take iron supplements.

Do's and Don'ts of Liposuction

MBBS, MS - General Surgery, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery
Cosmetic/Plastic Surgeon, Gurgaon
Do's and Don'ts of Liposuction

Liposuction is very popular as a relatively quick and safe cosmetic surgery to get rid of excess fat. At one time, the procedure was even touted as a better alternative to healthy diet and exercise. Regardless of such myths, liposuction is an important development in cosmetic surgery. Indeed in certain cases (of extreme weight gain) liposuction is the first surgical procedure performed on the patient. Like all surgeries, liposuction has a few do's and don'ts, and they are:

Do's

  1. Keep your weight at a healthy level before surgery. The more the amount of fat is removed from your body, the greater is the risk involved in surgery, which is why controlling your weight pre surgery is important. Losing a large amount of weight leaves a lot of loose skin in your body, which can make your skin look saggy.
  2. Wear your compression garments. Compression garments help your skin compress over the area where the fat used to be, leaving smooth, tight skin.
  3. Continue exercising (with the go ahead of your doctor) after the procedure and follow a healthy diet to maintain your body.
  4. Maintain gentle activity for two weeks after the procedure. This will help in removing fluid deposition in the surgical area and prevent complications.

Don'ts

  1. Do not take anti inflammatory medicines like aspirin or ibuprofen as these medicines may cause bleeding complications. They also harm the body's immune system, which is detrimental to recovery.
  2. Do not smoke or drink while recovering as Nicotine disturbs normal skin growth, which may lead to permanent scars, while alcohol interferes with the effect of some medicines.
  3. Don't lift heavy objects or bend down immediately after the surgery. Your doctor will give you a more specific timeline as to when you can pursue such activities.
  4. Don't expect results from day one. You will see results after you have recovered from the surgery.
  5. Do not opt for liposuction specifically for weight loss. Liposuction is chiefly a procedure for shaping and contouring the fat in your body to give you that shape you always desired.

Yes it is safe. Minimum requirement is 400 mcg but there is tablet with that strength. You can take becosules safely. Other preparations have 5 mg of folic acid which should be combined with vit b12.

HI, After baby birth , when will start sex , can we do sex if recycle not started after baby birth? Please tell.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Consider waiting to have sex until your health care provider gives you the green light — often four to six weeks after childbirth. This allows time for the cervix to close, postpartum bleeding to stop, and any tears or repaired lacerations to heal. Yes, you can have protected sex.

You are suffering from leucorrhoea. This leads to weakness also. Pain in the breasts may be due to hormonal issues and approaching periods. If you have regular pains, then consult me for homoeopathic treatment. Thanks.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

My wife use copper t before one year and now she has pain during sex what would I do?
Hello, It might be possible that the copper t has not been placed properly or it might be causing internal injury and infection which is causing pain during sex. Go visit a gynaecologist for a manual examination. Don't neglect it as it may further complicate if left untreated.

There are a number of things that you can try to ease the pain. Wear a soft bra at night. Avoid jogging, aerobics or other high-impact exercises. Make sure your bra fits correctly – get properly measured by a specialist fitter (most department stores have one). If you are taking any hormones, such as the oral contraceptive pill or hormone replacement therapy (HRT), consider stopping them for a while to see if the breast pain lessens. Breast pain seems to be common in women who have recently started HRT. Try a low-fat diet. There is some evidence that high levels of saturated fats in the blood make the breasts more sensitive to hormone levels, so it may be worth changing your diet. Avoid fatty meat, cheese, full-fat milk, cream, butter and anything made of pastry. Instead eat oily fish, such as herring and mackerel, twice a week. Fill up with carbohydrates (bread, potatoes, rice, pasta), fresh fruit and vegetables.

It may be related to breastfeeding, but if the pain is much then you will need clinical examination and treatment. Also ultrasound of breasts may be needed depending on clinical examination.

The average levels of hCG in a pregnant woman's blood are: non-pregnant women - less than 5 milli-international units per millilitre (mIU/ml) pregnant women, about 3 weeks after the last menstrual period (LMP) - 5–50 mIU/ml. Pregnant women, about 4 weeks after the LMP - 50–500 mIU/ml. Guideline to Progesterone levels during pregnancy: 1-28 ng/ml Mid Luteal Phase (Average is over 10 for un-medicated cycles and over 15 with medication use) 9-47 ng/ml First trimester. 17-146 ng/ml Second Trimester. So you have to follow the advice YOu seem to OK.
