Hello lybrate-user, •DIET CHART FOR WEIGHT GAIN: •Breakfast: 10 almonds, Banana milkshake, Cheese grilled sandwich in multigrain bread or stuffed parantha. •Midmorning: Fruit, Glass of sweet lassi. •Lunch: 3 chapatis, Dal, Mixed vegetable containing potatoes, Paneer or Non-veg (Chicken, Curd, Fruit. •Glass of Milk with bournvita or Whey protein and vegetable sandwich •Dinner: Same as lunch. If above does not help, you may revert back for homoepathic acne treatment.

I am smoke in 14 years in age and smoke side effect my body growth has been stopped and my skin problem is main issue...
You can reverse almost all damage caused during your smoking days by quitting immediately. For your growth in height, I cannot see much hope there. When quitting, you must take one day at a time; though you must give up all smoking at once, and promptly. If you look too far ahead you will get discouraged and will give up. If you sit and count the number of days you have given up, that will also focus too much on achievement. You must focus on the here and now, on that day to be precise. After all quitting is not that easy due to many factors. So even if you fail one day, you must try and try again. Very few people succeed in their first attempt. Your persistence will eventually pay off. The urge to discontinue is hampered by many factors but the worst of them is the conditioning. In fact, these conditions can exist all through the day, unlike other addictions. But your desire to want to stop is the most important factor. It is important to find out about the ill-effects of smoking to have a reason that alarms you about continuing the habit. The information is really scary but true and you must remind yourself about this every day. The nicotine in tobacco smoke stimulates the heartbeat to raise the blood pressure in no time at all. So you must avoid it like the plague: it is just very bad medicine for you. In fact, it is highly toxic too. You will need to stop smoking or consuming any tobacco related items with immediate effect. You should start vigorous exercises, gradually increasing it over a period of time. Do deep breathing exercises every time you feel like smoking (try Yoga), and replace the oral urge with some healthy food substitute to satiate the need. You may also take hard candy or chew gum. If the urge is too strong, then use nicotine gums and nicotine patches, for a little while until the smoking drive reduces, substantially. You may also join Smokers Anonymous in your city where the support is really extraordinary for like-minded people who are also in the same situation. Keep yourself occupied or engaged with interesting activities during the times when it is most tempting. Keep the company of non-smokers for some time i.e. at least for the first 21 days. Above all announce it to everyone that you have quit smoking. Here’s a piece of very good advice: even if you accidentally/willfully take a cigarette, it is not the end of the world – you can start the cessation all over again. You must persevere with the best support until you defeat this addiction. Counseling is very useful in the initial stages and when temptations are at their highest. You could also join twitter2quit program and enjoy its success to give up smoking.

Protein Contact Dermatitis - How It Can Be Managed?

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy, DNB( Dermatology and Venereology), Clinical Observership in Pediatric Dermatology
Dermatologist, Delhi
Protein Contact Dermatitis - How It Can Be Managed?

Protein contact dermatitis (PCD) is an allergic skin reaction caused by proteins of either animal or plant origin. Four types of proteins can cause PCD: plant, animal, flour, and proteolytic chemicals. The risk factors for the improvement of PCD include a family history or general history of atopy, irritant dermatitis, an occupation or side interest, including exposure to one of these protein allergen agents. In PCD, avoiding these particular allergens is very important in order to avoid the reaction. Symptomatic help and relief might be found with transient corticosteroids, immunomodulatory operators, or antihistamines. Inpatient care might be important for PCD patients if the allergy is severe to the point that patients cannot take care of themselves or in the rare case that they encounter angioedema or extreme gastrointestinal problems.

Some short-term treatments may include high-power topical corticosteroids, for example, clobetasol propionate, to diminish the irritation and swelling. Topical tacrolimus 1% ointment might be a decent long-term solution for the allergies. Oral antihistamines might be prescribed also if highly serious allergy takes place. To enhance and improve the treatment of this condition, the initial steps are to recognise and maintain a strategic distance from the dependable allergen. PCD is a chronic procedure that tends to have phases of change during holidays and crumbles when you go back to work.

It is recommended that the patients should wear plastic gloves and try to avoid rubber ones because of the danger of building up a PCD or unfavourably allergic contact dermatitis in addition to this already existing problem. In specific cases, change of patient's occupation is the main compelling measure to understand and manage this skin condition. This is done so that one can determine what element is causing the allergies to take place. Sometimes, certain products are to be avoided so as to determine which out of the daily routine products might be an allergen.

PCD does not necessarily have to end up in a chronic state. Avoiding the causative material more often than not prompts fast mending of the problem. In extreme cases, corticosteroid creams or treatments accelerate the recovery procedure. Symptomatic alleviation might be provided with transient corticosteroids, immunomodulatory specialists, or antihistamines.

Hence, in conditions like protein contact dermatitis, the allergy could also develop in the later stages of life. It is not necessary that the patient be allergic to certain types of foods from their very birth. With changing body schematics, it is possible that the allergy could be developed in later stages of life. Therefore, it is important to keep an eye out for when the allergy occurred so that it is easier for you to determine the allergen behind it. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Dermatologist.

Hi. It's normal to lose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg, eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin), different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. Walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you fit and young! Medication: Take homoeopathic medicines - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash.

Hi, My hair is falling directly out from roots tried many natural remedies but can't get result yet.
Hi. Let me tell you about hairfall. In layman's language, hairfall can be divided into 2 types - temporary hairfall and permanent (which is called as 'Hairloss' rather). In temporary hairfall, hair grows back again from the same hair root, but in case of permanent hairloss, may be because of formation of DHT (Di- Hydro -Testosterone) around hair root it gets choked up, subsequently affects the blood supply to the hair and thus hair root is lost forever. (There are different pattern and types of hairloss, because of different reasons like Alopecia Areata, Telogen Effluvium, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia, etc.) Causes of hairloss: Many factors are responsible formation of this DHT or male/ female pattern baldness - hereditary, post-illness/ ailment, post-delivery, post- chemotherapy, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, insufficient sleep, sudden loss of weight, stress/ tensions/ excessive anger, use of bore water, any other underlying diseases, etc. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs, pulses, legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnut and almonds), iron-rich food like green vegetables, also take flaxseeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from thistake Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month. (N.B.: With the help of homoeopathic medicines, we can only prevent further progress of the hairloss, means it will get arrests in the present condition in case of progressive baldness. But, in case there are areas of baldness which has gone smooth and shiny, you will have to choose an option of Hair Transplant along with theses medications!).

More than 95% of causes of hair loss in men are due to male-pattern baldness, a genetic characteristic. Such condition is hereditary (genetic) and various different genes have been shown to be involved. The genes can emanate from either parent. In rest of the 5% cases, it can be due to certain medications, having more than required vitamin A, or deficiency of protein can also cause hair loss for men. Massage coconut or egg oil onto your scalp, using your fingertips in small circular motions. Make sure not to rub or caress hard against the hair roots like many people do. Just use your fingertips very gently in small circular motion about 20 times for every section of the scalp. Apply this remedy twice a week.

There are silicon based scar creams in market and prescription which may help you to decrease scars. They work in the initial few months when the scars are still modulating. Its best to consult a dermatologist right away for facial pox scars. If you plan for laser treatment of scars. They respond best when in early stage.

As mentioned hair fall can be due to dandruff or any other acute illness or due to strong family history of pattern baldness. Basing on cause if treated properly hair fall can be controlled. For dandruff you can apply directly lime on scalp and do hair wash after 30 minutes or you can use fresh alo vera gel preferably fresh leave gel weekly once prefer more of protein diet and also shampoo hair alternate days with mild shmapoo.

Hello With all its moisturizing action, aloe vera is one of the most effective skin soothing agents. When you rub the gel over an itchy spot, it helps reduce the skin irritation in that area and provides quick relief from itching. Just break a leaf from the plant, cut it lengthwise using a knife and using a spoon, scoop out the jelly-like substance inside. Apply a little of this gel to the itchy area and leave it on for a few minutes.

Usually,Skin becomes dry in Winter,&that would b more for people who have dry skin ingeneral. Try to take more precautions in winter to lessen the intensity,&to make it smooth,by applying Olive oil or saltless butter over the skin before taking Bath&afte bath also,(Dont use too hot water for bath as that makes ur skin more dry, though its winter.)u hav to apply some Body lotion, non greasy but helps to keep ur skin moist. Drink 3-4litres of water/day irrespective of ur thirst. That too, taking 2-3glasses of water in morning with empty stomach will help in general as cleanser, by removing toxins in ur body, prefer Luke warm watr. Alovera gel application(if avaialable,Fresh leaves),also will help to make akin smooth&soft, apply for 20 min.&wash with normal water. Avoid Dry,Fried,Junk,Spicy,Oily food,Pickles. Dermal Fillers For Facial Rejuvenation

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Bangalore
Dermal Fillers For Facial Rejuvenation

Facial aging is an issue which shows its first signs around the late twenties and early thirties. It is manifested in the form of fine lines, dark circles, wrinkles and rough skin, especially near the eyes and lips. This process cannot be reversed. It is a part of human body and the way the skin matures with age. But, it can be treated through surgical and non-surgical or natural means to make sure that the process of aging is slowed down.

Factors Affecting Facial Aging:

There are several factors which affect the facial aging and aggravate the process faster. Some of these factors are:

  1. If you smoke excessively, your face would sooner or later start showing signs of aging prematurely.
  2. At times, this process gains speed due to genetic issues.
  3. Stress and anxiety are the most important reasons for a person to start showing signs of aging at an early stage of life.
  4. If you lead a hectic lifestyle which involves excessive travelling throughout different climates, the exhaustion may be manifested through facial aging.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face.

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow's feet become more apparent.

The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.

Dermal fillers can be used to:

  • Plump thin lips
  • Enhance shallow contours
  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles
  • Improve the appearance of recessed scars

Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery.

Administration:

You must make a note of the fact that dermal filling is not considered to be a type of surgical treatment. However, it does use anaesthesia while being administered. In fact, the patient is first given a dose of anaesthesia and left to rest for about half an hour. Some fillers have anesthesia in the syringe itself otherwise, we apply numbing cream or topical anesthesia. Thereafter, dermal fillings are applied with the help of fine needles. You need to realise that the use of fine needles with precision can be done only by those who have been specially trained for it. Thus, if your dermatologist recommends you for a treatment of dermal filling, then he/she ought to be a trained expert in carrying out the procedure. If you, on your own prefer to get this treatment done, then you should also find an expert who is well trained in administering this procedure.

Thus, dermal fillers are quite famous in the world of facial dermatology to reverse the aging process. It helps in reducing fine lines, wrinkles and adds volume and smoothness to the skin. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a dermatologist.
