Heel pain as in your situation is most likely due to plantar fascitis. It is due to inflammation in the tough fibrous tissue called plantar fascia in sole extending from heel to base of toes. The treatment mostly is conservative and lifestyle modifications to achieve maximum functionality with minimum pain. Follow these lifestyle changes religiously to get benefit. 1. Reduce body weight as obesity will aggravate the stress on heel. 2. Avoid exercises like running / walking on hard surfaces. Stop such activities when you start developing pain. 3. Roll your feet on bottle of cold water for 20 mins 4 times a day or can apply ice pack. 4. Use shoes with silicone sole inserts. 5. Do calf muscle and heel stretches daily. 6. Avoid prolonged standing or sitting. 7. Use night splint to keep foot flexed at night. Stop using it once pain is relieved. 8. Use analgesics like Ibuprofen for decreasing pain and inflammation. With proper lifestyle changes as above 90 % patients have relief and functionality. Injections in plantar fascia are done only after conservative treatment as above has failed.Only 10% patients would require surgical intervention like plantar fascia release or gastrocnemius recession. Start exercising every day. Do warm up exercises before doing any exercise regime. Eat healthy food, lots of fruits or vegetables everyday. Avoid bad posture. Sleep with a single pillow. Have sufficient sleep for the body to relax and rejuvenate. You can also take the help of Homeopathy if needed.

Good evening lybrate-user, from your description it looks like you have spinal canal stenosis in which the disc bulges out and causes compression on the nerve. There is nothing to worry about. Out of 100 patients 95% of them will have disc problem but that does not mean everybody needs treatment. In your case you need to get Vitamin d3 levels and meet a physiotherapist who can assess your back and plan your Physiotherapy regime.

I seem to have injured my right knee. I feel very slight pain when I sit cross legged. Ironically there is no pain when I do squats lunges or even when I run walk or climb stairs. The pain sort of feels similar to when one stretches an unprepared muscle.

Hi good evening lybrate-user, if you are having pain sitting cross legged especially on ground it could be because of strain of lateral structures of the knee or could be because of meniscal injury it has to be clinically evaluated and treated accordingly followed by strengthening exercises of knee, thank you.

Go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti, localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.

Dequervain' s teosynovitis affects 1st extensor compartment tendons and is very painful. You also have trigger finger issue. Please if you pain and triggering are too much, then I would advise you get a surgical release done as it is a small procedure which can be done quickly in daycare. If you do not wish to do that, I can advise brace, ice packs and anti-inflammatory medications can be tried for some time but if there is no relief then it' s wise to undergo surgical release. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Hello, being diabetic (even with normal sugar values) predisposes you to multiple conditions like shoulder degenerative tendinopathy, frozen shoulder which causes arm and shoulder pain. It would be better if it is evaluated furthur by proper examination and any investigation if required. Generalized body pain can be due to multiple causes most common being decreased bone strength (osteoporosis). It also requires furthur evaluation.

Hi, there are two types of insomnia: primary insomnia and secondary insomnia. Primary insomnia: primary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems that are not directly associated with any other health condition or problem. Secondary insomnia: secondary insomnia means that a person is having sleep problems because of something else, such as a health condition (like asthma, depression, arthritis, cancer, or heartburn); pain; medication they are taking; or a substance they are using (like alcohol). Sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right times can help protect your mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety. In children and teens, sleep also helps support growth and development. The damage from sleep deficiency can occur in an instant (such as a car crash), or it can harm you over time. For example, ongoing sleep deficiency can raise your risk for some chronic health problems. It also can affect how well you think, react, work, learn, and get along with others. Management: here are five tips everyone can use to help improve the quality of their sleep: keep your bedroom cool and dark put away/turn off all electronic devices while preparing for bedtime stick to a regular bedtime and wake time every day, even on weekends stop drinking caffeine by the early afternoon and avoid large late-night meals skip the late-afternoon nap, as it can make it harder to sleep at bedtime avoid taking unnecessary stress/ tension. Do regular exercise. Go for a brisk walk in the morning. Medication: take schwabe's bacopa monierri 1x/ thrice daily and kali phos./ once daily at night for 1month.
