Dear Lybrate user, there are many anti-sensitivity toothpastes available in the market. Sensodyne, colgate sensitive pro-relief, vantej etc. Visit your dentist to first know the cause of sensitivity. If there is a decaying tooth, get it filled. You can use any anti sensitivity toothpaste but you must use it in the proper manner. Take some toothpaste on your finger an apply it generously over all the sensitive areas of your mouth. Let it remain for 5-7 minutes and then brush it off. Anti sensitivity toothpastes are supposed to be used as an ointment. Many people are unaware of this fact.

Hello, I suggest you to visit a dentist first because there are many reasons for sensitivity of teeth. Get a thorough check up done for actual cause. Most probably this could be due to wear off of the uppermost layer of the teeth in the form of depressions. They can be filled with tooth colored fillings. You can do warm saline rinses twice a day, this will also provide some relief.
