Hello lybrate-user, Melasma is a common skin problem. It causes dark, discolored patches on your skin. It’s also called chloasma, or the “mask of pregnancy,” when it occurs in pregnant women. Most Common affected areas are cheeks, forehead, bridge of the nose, chin. But can occur elsewhere also like on neck etc. The Best one can avoid it is by staying away from sun or use of sunscreens. Keeping Oestrogen Pills away. If Already developed you could use Hydroxyquinone or Trans Retinoic Acid containing Meds BUT SUBJECTED TO PRIOR CONSULTATION WITH A DOCTOR.
