My friend has juvenile diabetes. Is diabetes and heart condition associated? In the long run will it affect other organs in her body? Is there any remedy as such.

Yes,diabetes and heart functioning has a definite connection. Too much of sugars causes the blood to become viscous and hinders the smooth flow of blood,thereby increasing the BP and thickening of blood vessels.in teh long run, it does affect other organs in the body if sugars ar not controlled

Hello, both t1 and t2 diabetes if not well controlled produce persistent hyperglycemia. This affects small and large blood vessels, due to which eyes (retina), kidneys (nephropathy, nerves (neuropathy), lower limbs - non healing ulcers leading to amputation and coronary arteries and heart all the organs are affected. Hence it is essential to achieve a strict glycemic control.
