Diabetes is a disease occurring due to either lack of insulin or resistance to its action. It causes high blood glucose, which affects almost every system in the body, like eyes (retina), kidneys, small and large blood vessels, nervous system, heart and lower limbs particularly feet. It is a disease that runs in the family. However, t2 dm is also a prventable disease, by adapting a modified lifestyle. Which means regular exercise, diet control, avoiding alcohol and smoking.
