Hello sir/mam. I am 25 year old male suffering from hypothyroidism. I was taking thyronorm 50 mcg and now mys tsh has decreased so my endocrinologist told me to take 25 mcg now. I had purchased 50 mcg thyronorm 2 bottles. Now I want to ask can I take half from 50 mcg or should I take 50 mcg on alternate days to avoid it's wastage. As my current dose is 25 mcg only. I will switch to 25 mcg as my already bought 50 mcg is finished. please suggest some way out. Do give satisfactory reply that will be your kindness thank you.

Mr Abdul Vahid, Thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. However, there is no specific information like what re the current levels of T3, T4 & TSH. Because by saying TSH has decreased there is no way to understand theexact situation for suggesting or giving an opinion on the dosage. Secondly Levothyroxine dose is in MCG that is a very minute quantity, so the tablets can not be or should not be broken. As regards the wastage you might ask the chemist if he can exachange 50 mcg (full bottle) for 25 mcg one. Thanks.
