I am 58 years old and a diabetic and having hypothyroidism. I am taking metformin and thyroxine. I heard thyroxine reduces the absorption of metformin. Please advise whether I can continue the treatment ?

You have to take thyroxin early morning empty stomach. And metformin after breakfast. So there is no question of one drug interfering in the absorption of other

If your thyroid and sugar both under control, then don't think too much. Thyroxine is to be taken on empty stomach and metformin to be taken with food and both doesn' t have any interaction with each other.
