I'm a 64 year old male with a acquired brain injury from an accident 2 and a half years ago, also have physical disability. I have lost nearly 2 stone over last 3 months, I am constantly thirsty and need to urinate a lot, I can not hold my wee and have to go as soon as I feel the need. I have just had a blood and urine test. My blood sugar has doubledfrom 51 to 114 and have been given metformin 500 mg twice a day am I know a diabetic? Nurse said if im sick I need to go to a and e why is that?

I don't think you need to go to a and e. But the thirst and urination issues can be due to diabetes so as brain injury. Difficulty in holding can be due to brain as well as spine injury or urinary infection and other causes. So you need proper detailed evaluation. For diagnosis.
