Hello doctor! I am a 41 years old woman. I hv a small brown patch clearly visible under my right ring fingernail. It is extremely painful. What could be the reason for it? It does?t seem to grow out with the nail. It feels like a growth under the finger nail. Pls help me as it is getting unbearable!

Melanin is a brown colored pigment. These deposits are usually grouped together. As your nail grows, it causes the stripe of brown or black to appear on your nail.
