Hi. So, I am turning 21 on march 8 and wanting to go bar hopping and try alcohol. I take sertraline as an antidepressant and on the paperwork it says "do not drink alcohol while you take sertraline. My question is, is there any way I can drink alcohol if i'm on sertraline? Would I need to stop taking it for a couple of days before I go drink, can I still go get a couple of drinks while i'm on sertraline or can I not drink alcohol at all?

You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with sertraline. Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of sertraline such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. Good luck
