My father is 60 years old. His right eye has got cataract and he is unable to see anything with that eye. Will it impact the left eye as well, do cataract if not treated soon, will be dangerous?

Normally cataract develops in both the eyes simultaneously- may be slightly faster in one of the eyes. Each eye can be operated separately. If one eye cataract is in advanced stage, this may be operated first. Few days later, the second eye may be operated.
