A few months ago my friend had consulted her doctor as she was having brown discharge constantly, it has been ongoing for at least 6 months now, she did a urine test and it came up clear, but it still won?t stop nor go away. It is constantly there 24/7 and she feels quite embarrassed by it. She is on the depo-provera needle, she was previously on please birth control about a year ago but since then she?s been on depo-provera. She is getting quite concerned as it won?t go away, she did the urine test and the results came back negative for an infection and she does?t know what to do or how to get rid of it.

Hello, Please don't worry. Irregular bleeding or spotting is quite common with depoprovera. After complete evaluation (usg lower abdomen, blood for cbc, sugar, tsh and prolactin) if reports come normal, than it will be advisable to use combined oral contraceptive pills instead of depo prover.
