Hello, recently I have checked my lipid profile and the result is tc-245, ldl-200, hdl-33, tg-163. How bad is it and what should I do?

Dear lybrateuser, -Your total cholesterol & LDL is high & HDL is low - follow some lifestyle measures for your problem: - avoid fried, processed & fatty foods especially those containing trans fats - have more of fibre containing foods such as fruits, vegetables including green leafy ones, whole grains instead of refined ones, beans, lentils, pulses, sprouts, peas and a handful of unsalted nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pista, cashews and peanuts - have low fat milk and milk products, have tofu ,soy products, healthy fats as in fish , avocados, olive & canola oil for cooking, nuts, seeds - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, swimming or cycling for an hour - reduce stress by sleeping well, do yoga, meditation and deep breathing - if the life style measures do not help improve your levels then medication will be required
