I am Diabetic, diagnosed of non drug resistant PTB in 2014 and on AKT4 for 1month and thereafter on R-Cinex 600 and Combutol 1000 till today. For how to know I am free from PTB. Any tests to undergo.

Thanks for your query. Drug sensitive TB has excellent outcome provided that you have taken full course without interruption. You must include tab pyrazinamide for 1month along with rcinex and combutol. After this continue rcinex alone for 6 months. Control of diabetes is of utmost importance. Best wishes

Treatment of PTB is usauly by 4 drugs and dose is calculated on weight basis.As you are diabetic,your intensive phage should have been for 3 months and not for 1 month and also maintenance phage of ATT should be of 6 month,so total of 9 month treatment has to be taken. You should have periodic xray chest, sputum AFB and liver function test done.Your diabetic should be under control ,otherwise all treatment will be waste.
