I suffered a severe lower left abdominal pain few days back and was taken to a hospital. I was given a pain killer and gas reduction medicine through vein to which the pain did not subside. I was given a second shot of pain killer which did get rid of the pain. Doctors advised that this type of pain is not related to gas but was related to kidney stones. Now am all ok. My concern is why was the pain so severe that I could not even sit up straight also if it is related to kidney stones how bad is my situation with related to the pain I had? I am going to check with a specialist but before that want to know the cause of the pain.

Hi lybrate-user. You already have been given the probable cause of the pain. But to confirm and to know the severity of the condition we need to get proper investigation done. Most probably USG abdomen. Then will be able to give you the answers of your question. My suggestion is to take homoeopathic treatment. To avoid the dangerous side effects of the pain killers. And better not to wait as the next episode of the pain can come on any day.
