1. Dinner whole grain bread or chapattis, steamed vegetables and any seasonal fruit except banana and apple. 2. Do regular exercise like brisk walking (at least), running, swimming etc. Avoid sedentary and lazy lifestyle. 3. A glass of warm water mixed with the juice of half a lemon. A teaspoonful of honey can be added have it early in the morning.

Hi, Thanks for the query. Weight loss cannot be timed. everyone takes different times to reduce fats. One person may take 6 months to reduce 30kgs, another 1 year. Don't limit or time bind fat loss. As for workout choose what you are comfortable with. Fat loss needs both cardio and strength training. You can alternate cardio and weight training days.

Hi lybrate-user, the weight gain is quite due to your sedentary lifestyle. Try to burn maximum calories throughout the day by indulging in any kind of physical activity you like e. G. Brisk walking, cycling, dancing etc. For at least 30 minutes a day. The most important thing to remember is to be regular and consistent. Experts say'sitting is the new smoking' so please get up from your seat/desk as often as possible e. G. May be to fill up a water bottle, go to your colleague's desk to discuss office issues instead of sending an email, do not use lift/escalators wherever possible, go for 10-15 minutes light walk pre- lunch etc. Eating healthy and small meals every 3-4 hours is equally important to boost the metabolism. Avoid processed foods and stick to healthy homemade meals. You can consult me for a detailed diet plan and exercise regimen. Good luck!

Hi, weight-loss is a gradual process. It is only the by product of leading a healthy lifestyle. Honestly you wont be able to lose 10kgs in a month and it is also not good to do so. Below are some tips to get you started on the weight-loss journey. 1. Never eat a snack out of a carton or a cover. Always use a cup or a plate to so you know how much you are eating. 2. Have atleast one bright colored fruit and one bright colored vegetable a day 3. Take a small snack box to office with almonds, walnuts and other dry fruits to satisfy your cravings 4. Try to have your dinner by 8 so that you are not too hungry and also make healthy choices at dinner. 5. People who eat breakfast have a better success rate at losing weight. 6. Beware of zero trans fat and fat free foods as you might end up eating high sugar and carb containing foods. 7. People who are emotional eaters learn to identify the emotion that makes you eat unhealthy food and try diverting your mind to something else you love 8. If your plates are too big trade them off for a 9 inch plates 9. Replace your weighing scale with a tape measure. 10. Share your weight-loss journey with a family member or friend so that you are accountable to each other. 11. Green tea atleast once a day will help you boost your metabolism 12. Sleep helps in repair and regulating your hormones. Sleep atleast 8 hours in a day. 13. Have fruits atleast twice a day 14. Drink water if you feel you are hungry to check if its hunger or thirst. 15. Lastly, keep a positive attitude and visualize yourself thin.

Hi, early morning: green tea/any herbal decoction according to your ayurvedic prakruti+5overnite soaked almonds morning-veg poha/suji upma/steamed sprouts +tea/milk midmorning: fruits lunch: 2 regular atta chapaties+veg+slaads+curd/2 missi chapaties+veg+slaads/2 dal cheelas+green chutney+slaads/1 paneer sandwich+slaads evening-tea+2 biscuits after some time- 1 katori makhana dinner: dalia/oats/ant roasted or tandoori preparation+veg+slaads post dinner-fruits/milk diet plan is always prepared considering one's nutritional needs, age, health issues, present weight and your likes dislikes. Above is the general diet plan which should be accompanied with 45 mins of daily physical activity in any form. Hope this will help you.

Being a dietitian my views: there is no single diet chart for everyone. To plan a specific diet we do collect lot of information like height, weight, food frequency, digestive history, medical history, likes, dislike, lifestyle, eating habits. Remember one thing to follow a diet it should be personalized according to person's body type and not generalized. Starting with there is no pills or powder or shake which can help you to lose weight in a healthy way. To lose weight eat an hour within walking up and dinner at least 2 hours before you sleep. Avoiding eating anything after dinner. Breakfast should be your king size have good complex carbohydrates and protein rich. Eat every 2 hours small frequent meal do help in weight loss. And do not overeat. One can come to ideal body weight with few lifestyle modification. Have green tea only 2 cups a day. For exercise I would say diet plays 80 % role and exercise plays 20 % role in losing weight. Personal advise on gym. You should not make your body habituated with machines rather do simple walk or surya namaskar or planks. So only with healthy eating one can lose weight.

As per your height your weight should be 64 Kg. For weight loss, you may try the following tips: 1. Have small frequent meals (6-8) instead of 3-4 large ones 2. Eat slowly without TV/ computer & chew your food well 3. Drink 3 litres water daily 4. Avoid junk/ processed/ packaged/ canned/ fired/ sugary foods, soft & hard drinks, energy drinks, glucose 5. Replace refined carbs like potato, sugar, maida, biscuit, white rice, white bread, noodles, sewai with complex carbs like whole fruits (with peel), vegetables, whole grains (atta, dalia, suji, oats, barley, bajra, brown rice, atta bread), whole legumes (soybean, rajma, chana, mung gota, moth, sprouts, safed matar) 6. Have enough fibre & protein in all your meals 7. Include enough good quality protein- low fat dairy (milk, curd, channa, lassi, buttermilk), soybean, sprouts, cereal pulse combinations (khichdi, atta besan chila, idli, plain dosa, pongal), whole egg, fish, chicken 8. prefer steamed, pressure cooked, stewed foods to oily/ fried ones 9. Hi lybrate user firstly, start doing surya namaskar in morning and start eating triphla chooran (natural medicine) in morning empty stomach with luke warm water. Start a fruit dieting every alternative day, means you have to eat fruits every alternative days & normal fruit every other alternative days. Avoid late night dinners and try to eat nothing after sunset. Sit in vajrasana after every meal you eat for 10 minutes. Walk atleast 30 min in morning.

First you should follow low calories food for weight loss. * in morning, take 1-2 chapattis with a bowl of cooked green vegetables. You can take a glass of lemon water with it *in lunch you can take a bowl of raw vegetables like carrot, radish, tomatoes, turnip or beetroot. *in evening, you can take a cup of green tea only with some pieces of friuts like apple, pineapple, pear. Avoid taking banana or mango. *in dinner, you can take vegetable soup or a bowl of cooked vegetables. But do not take potato, sweet potatoes. * you can take a cup skimmed milk 4 times a week only during day time. * work out for atleast 1 hour in morning, you can try skipping for 15minutes with a walk of 30 minutes and 5-10 minutes running. Follow these exercises in the morning - * lie down on flat surface, raise your legs without bending your knees, do it for 3-5 times daily * do not eat fastfoods and soft drinks, as they have high calories and the calories deposit in body in the form of weight if not utilised. * you can take medohar guggalu 1 tablet daily for quick weight loss but only under the guidance of ayurveda expert.

*Take protein rich food --- seeds, pulses, nuts, Also fruits, vegetables, greens and reduce carbs/cereals. *Green tea is also good. *Take lemon juice and honey in warm water in the early morning, empty stomach. *Avoid sweets, cakes, creams, fried foods, processed food and junk food. * Maintain food timings * Don’t miss breakfast. *Avoid heavy dinners and late night meals. *Avoid stimulants, aerated drinks sweetish juices, etc. And maintain good food habits. * Drink lots of water and keep hydrated. Avoid sugary soft drinks * Have adequate, timely, good night sleep *Even with desk job, you can spend morning and evening time for work out *Have vigorous physical exercise to improve absorption and blood circulation. Games like basketball, volley ball and stretch exercises like pull ups, cycling will be helpful. Obesity- Check whether you have thyroid and such ailments causing weight increase.
