To name a few, Facebook tops the list by having over 1.2 billion active users monthly from across the world, followed by Twitter, Snapchat and LinkedIn.

As per the latest statistics, around 42% of populace online at one time, is using social networking sites either on their laptops or mobiles. Majority of this population is below 30 years of age, whereas the figure is changing for internet users aged 65 years and above. People use these sites to stay in touch with family and friends, to share things, express their views on matters and to find out what's happening in the other corner of the world.

But this usage can have many negative effects on the mental health and well-being of users both children and adults.

That is the effect of marijuana and that is also the catch in it: its pleasant effects and creative stimulus are enticing but so are the dangers. You are feeling good due to the effects of letting you feel light headed and calm. But this is a fallacy and lasts as long as the effect is there. Not much is known about its entertainment value or benefits. There is a lot of hype by those who want to legitimize it and those who love it: there is a bias because of their selfish motives. The antagonists on the other hand willfully propagate the dangers, sometimes without substantiated reasons to dissuade its use. If you know it is harmful why would you want to play with it? The obsession and compulsive use is when you become addicted to the substance. Just for your information here’s what WebMD has to say: ‘No matter how it gets into your system, it affects almost every organ in your body, and your nervous system and immune system, too. When you smoke pot, your body absorbs THC right away. (If you eat baked goods or another item, it may take much longer for your body to absorb THC, because it has to break down in your stomach before it enters your bloodstream). You may notice changes in your body right after you smoke. The effects usually stop after 3 or 4 hours. Smoking pot can increase your heart rate by as much as two times for up to 3 hours. That’s why some people have a heart attack right after they use marijuana. It can increase bleeding, lower blood pressure, and affect your blood sugar, too. We don’t yet know if marijuana is linked to higher odds of getting lung cancer. But the process does irritate your lungs -- which is why regular pot smokers are more likely to have an ongoing cough and to have lung-related health problems like chest colds and lung infections. You should not smoke especially if you are dependent on it to be normal. Just quit it before it gets you.

Take over the counter available analgesics like paracetamol for relief of headache. 1. Get proper 8 hours sleep in night to avoid daytime sleepiness. 2. Take at least 2.5 to 3 litres fluid per day to avoid dehydration in this hot weather. 3. Take a walk after lunch and dinner to avoid laziness and sleepiness. Get your vision checked for refractive errors causing headache and difficulty in studies. Consult again for further queries.

First rule out the stiffness of the hip and spine. Spinal mobilization exercise, gym ball exercise, swimming are quite helpful. Stretching of hip and knee muscles are also helpful for this ind of problem. If you have a static cycle you can try that also. Dont go for much strengthening exercise.

My girlfriend is four weeks pregnant and we want abortion. What should we do and she also feels very weak these days.

M.B.S.(HOMEO), MD - Homeopathy
Homeopath, Visakhapatnam
Abortion is a safe and legal way to end a pregnancy. There are two methods of abortion available to women in the first trimester of pregnancy. A medication abortion (also called medical abortion or abortion with pills) involves taking medicines to end a pregnancy. An aspiration abortion (also called surgical or suction abortion) is a procedure that uses medical instruments in the vagina and uterus to remove the pregnancy. The information below compares the two methods. Medication Abortion: Up to ten weeks from the first day of your last period. Medication Abortion: Generally, the abortion pill (mifepristone) is taken in person at the clinic or at a doctor’s office. Most women feel fine after taking mifepristone, though some experience nausea. At home, 6 to 72 hours later, a second pill, misoprostol, is taken bucally (placed in your cheek to dissolve) or vaginally, as instructed by your healthcare provider. Aspiration Abortion: Up to 12 weeks from the first day of your last period.

Usually the hypertension remains asymptomatic in many cases and only diagnosed accidentally or if there are any complications... Second thing if its only a one time reading then you should check it at least two more times on different days and then only you can decide if it comes more then you are hypertensive.. If it comes normal then you can maintain it by walk (exercise, pranayam), salt restrictions... If it comes higher than the normal range then you should consider taking a homeopathic treatment which can bring it down to normal in time and you will not have to take the medicines lifelong, plus it also improves general health... For a good homoeopathic medicine consult with more details... Till then you may try taking Veretrum Viride 30 (homoeopathic).

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. That is a nice thought. Everybody does the same thing again and again. Maximum are doing routine works. How to change the tempo of routine works? First of all, be yourself aware that in daily 24 hours, you may have to do many routine work. Starting from brushing teeth to taking bath, to going and doing your employment related duties to family commitments etc. In between these many tasks, you may get two or three hours for yourself to be creative and try to be away from routines. This is where you have to be tricky. Hobbies, outing, vacations, games, entertainment, flirting, being with friends etc are activities which will help you to escape from routines. Use them wisely. Take care.
