Using nutrislim or other such" products" have no magical value. If they help, it may be temporary without sustained lifestyle changes. Excess weight is a lifestyle related issue and it can be surely treated with intensive lifestyle modification program. Most people who are fat are made to feel that it is because you lack will power, you are lethargic and a weak person. But that is definitely not true. It is your your hormones which have made you fat and keeping you fat. Unless we make correct diagnosis and and create a diet and lifestyle plan to correct that hormonal abnormalities you will not be able to lose weight for long term. Most diet fails because they are low calorie and low fat. Instead of correcting metabolism, they make you feel low energy or makes you feel excessively hungry. I am sure you did not gain this much weight suddenly but over a period of time. To achieve weightloss - think long term. Weight loss achieved over short term, always comes back. Try this general approach (see below) for 4 weeks. If this works then continue. 1. Do not eat anything sugary or sweet. Zero sweetness in diet. 2. Eat plenty of salad in lunch and dinner along with other foods. 3. Do not drink any liquid calorie like cola or fruit juices. 4. Brisk walks or jogging for 45 - 60 minutes every day. My best wishes.

You have antioxidants deficiency - that is creating allergy problem. I deal with it in 3 months and after that your body becomes capable of protecting. It is generally noticed that the people who fast for long hours (self dieting), tend to put on more weight because their body start storing even carbs. To loose with heathy food like eat every 3 hours in moderate amounts, a combination of more fibre, whole grains, sprouts, legumes, salads, 3-4 cups green tea, 1 fist dry fruits to have virgin fats, limit aerated & sugary beverages, junk foods, fast foods etc. And exercise for 45 min including yoga especially kapal bharti - 15 min every day. For in-depth understanding, dealing with imbalance diet & other concerns with extra weight and customised diet planning you can consult me separately.

Medicines/food supplements though effective in causing weight loss, apart from being expensive, have adverse effects on our health by altering our metabolism & hormonal balance. Instead try these natural, easy yet inexpensive weight loss tips: 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs interval instead of 3-4 large meals only. In between balanced main meals-(comprising of a whole grain, whole legume/egg/fish/chicken, low fat dairy, whole fruits, vegetables, salad); include healthy snacks in between- coconut water (w/o cream), whole fruit, roasted makhana, roasted chana (unsalted), nuts & oilseeds, soup, stew, buttermilk, salted lassi, green tea. 2. Drink 2- 3 litres water daily 3. Avoid junk, fried, processed, preserved, sugary foods & drinks, alcohol. 4. Replace simple carbs (sugar, jaggery, honey, maida, sago, cornflour, arrowroot flour, potato, biscuit, cake, white rice, white bread) with complex carbs (whole fruits, vegetables, salads, whole grains-atta, dalia, suji, oats, millets, barley, brown rice, atta bread, quinoa, whole legumes-sprouts, soyabean, pseudo cereals-rajgira, makhana, & nuts, oilseeds). 5. Avoid skipping meals 6. Have early & light dinner. 7. Sleep & wake up early. Have a sound sleep. Avoid use of mobile, laptop etc at bedtime. Avoid staying up late at night & snacking 8. Brisk walk daily for 1 hr. 9. Walk/ cycle instead of taking transport, take stairs instead of lift/ escalator. 10. Cut down on total oil consumption. 11. Take 15 mins light walk post main meals. 12. Avoid sitting for an hr at a stretch continuously 13. Avoid eating in front of TV.

You can have a double benefit of reducing your belly and increasing your breast size by a surgical technique called -fat transfer. Excess fat can be taken out from your belly area, processed and transferred to your breasts and the size of the breasts can approximately doubled without scars. Fairness is a different treatment can be done to a certain extent.

Hi lybrate-user tips for weight loss eat fresh vegetables daily. Avoid having sugar completely. Eat whole wheat bread instead of white bread; avoid everything made from white flour and make whole wheat bread, chapattis and brown rice a way of life. Do not skip a meal and eat three meals a day. Drink plenty of water to eliminate the toxins from the system. Limit your fat intake to 2-3 teaspoons a day. Increase the fiber intake as it provides a sense of fullness and also prevents hunger pangs. Take antioxidants for protecting the body against the toxins released during weight loss. Exercise catalyzes your efforts to lose weight and even regular walking for thirty minutes can give you the benefits of an aerobics exercise. To improve the metabolism, try increasing the duration, frequency, intensity of your daily workout. Remember that maintaining the ideal weight is a lifetime commitment and not a short-term affair. Firmly believe that the pleasure of being trim and healthy is far better than the pleasure of eating unwisely.

I understand your concern because, this kind of extra weight is breeding ground for many diseases (blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, certain kind of cancers, arthritis etc), which can affect the quality of your life ahead. This is a lifestyle related issue and it can be surely treated with intensive lifestyle modification program. If you are doing regular exercise, it will increase your fitness but it may not reduce weight much. Calorie counting is useless. If you want to count, count nutritional value of food in terms of protein, fiber, good fat etc. I am sure you did not gain this much weight suddenly but over a period of time. To achieve weightloss - think long term. Weight loss achieved over short term, always comes back. Try this general approach (see below) for 4 weeks. If this works (moves your weight in right direction) then continue. If you have tried this in past or if it does not work, then approach us for weightloss package of 6 months by lifestyle modification - combination of individualized nutritional plan, stress management, exercise prescription for your current fitness level and sleep improvement, (if required).

Our Daily energy requirements for proper functioning of our body is 1600-2200 K cal of Energy if we want to remain fit and healthy. But there is a misconception that weight is reduced by dieting. But weight is not reduced by only skipping our meals or prohibition from sugars but until we are not aware what are our body energy requirements ,it will be difficult to loose weight. If we restrict ourself from taking daily diet to 1100-1200 Kcalories ,and increases our workouts, only then we can think about reducing our weight and for that we must obtain proper knowledge of exact energy levels in a particular dish we are eating, only then we can achieve our target of reducing weight by means of simple mathematical calculation. Know about Obesity

Charming Health: April 2017

THE NEWS:

  1. A survey made by National Institute of Ageing (India) a few years ago revealed that fasting for two days every week increases Longevity. Therefore everyone who wants to live long should fast for one or two days every week. The survey was made amongst the people who were fasting without any training. Therefore if fasting is done properly, after learning the right mechanics, even better results can be expected.

  2. To support the above statement a reference can be made to the surveys made during 2008 recession in USA and during the period of Rationing in post world war England. In both cases the population in general had much less to eat because either the people had no money to buy food (USA) or there was no food at all (UK). This resulted in reduction of flab from the bodies of the citizens of both the countries. It is now well established that flab reduction directly means improved health. Thus, whatever may be wrong with those times, they definitely resulted in improvement of health in USA and England.

  3. These studies also established that the people of developed countries were normally eating more than what was good for them. These studies further established that eating more does not mean improved health. On the contrary over eating is proved to be detrimental to health.

  4. The times of scarcity and recession are now over and these same people must have gone back to their old life style accumulating flab on their bodies.

  5. In India also the urban effluent population is growing flabby due to over eating, wrong eating and lack of exercise. Therefore obesity is spreading like an epidemic in all cities of India irrespective of their size and location. This is already causing damage to citizens’ well being and overloading scarce health services. The future looks   gloomy because obesity among the children is all the more prevalent now. Surprisingly, although obese but these people are still suffering malnutrition.

  6. The specter of Diabetes and Heart diseases at younger age is looming large. Similarly Knee joint pain which used to be a disease of old age is now starting in 30s and 40s.

  7. Therefore the readers are advised to eat right type and right quantity of food. Lord Krishna in Geeta has advised “Yuktahar”. The very word Yuktahar denotes both, right quality and right quantity.

  8. The question thus naturally arises is what is right quality and how to determine the right quantity.

  9. To answer these questions a very large number of theories have been advanced. The general public is totally confused. They do not know what to believe and what to ignore. Therefore after running from pillar to post, people just quit thinking about it.  The health tips in this news letter will attempt to answer, these very questions in a simple logical manner, in just a few, easy to understand sentences. That will help the people at large to understand and follow.

HEALTH TIPS:

  1. The God given food for humans is Fruits, Vegetables and Dry fruits. Various grains are added to them later. It is therefore better to use them in lesser quantities. The God has also given water and milk to quench thirst and build bodies. Thus these are the foods humans are allowed to eat.

  2. The foods in their natural forms are the best. However, in modern times it is not always possible to use all foods in their natural form. Hence cooking has become essential. In the circumstances cooking of the food should be reduced to minimum. Over cooking, frying and cooking at high temperatures destroy the natural values of the food. Make minimum use of these processes in the kitchen.

  3. The meals must contain a large part of vegetables and fruits. A good part must be in raw form.

  4. Various spices like chilies, garam msalas etc are anti health. Better avoid them.

  5. Intoxicating materials like Tea, Coffee, Tobacco, Coco, Opium products and many other chemical products must be avoided. Similarly preservatives, colors, flavors etc., added to the market foods are good for manufacturers and traders only. These things do not add any value to food.

  6. The human body is not designed for Non Vegetarian foods. Their nails, teeth, digestive system, and very instinct are not made suitable for such foods.  It is best to avoid them.

  7. The total quantity of food should be such that the body shape remains in proportion. That means:

    1. The waist should be not more than 90% of chest. The ideal is 75% or less.

    2. The thighs should be 66% of the waist.

    3. The measurements of neck, upper arm and calf should be nearly equal.

    4. The circumferences of Chest and Hips should be almost equal.

  1. The modern scientists recommend the use of  BMI (Body Mass Index). To calculate it, find the weight in Kilograms and height in Meters. Now divide the weight by square of the height. The answer is the BMI. Ideally BMI should be around 25 for adult males and 21 for adult females. As the age advances beyond 50 it should be still lower. Regulate the quantity of food in such a way that the BMI is maintained.

  2. There is an easier way also. Ensure that the circumference of the waist remains less than half of the height of the body.

I have over fat, everybody told me you drink honey it is the good way for reduce fat. Somebody told me morning walking is the best way to reduce fat. If those two tips are true or false?

MSc
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Chandigarh
Here are some steps to fight obesity: Step 1: Ban Fatty and Processed Foods If you are serious about fighting obesity, then you must put a ban on fatty and processed foods. This means your refrigerator should not be loaded with pastries, muffins, cakes, frozen foods, preservatives, jellies, and many other food items that you are tempted to buy from the supermarket. Step 2: Make Friends with Lemon Drink a glass full of lemon in warm water with honey when you get up in the morning. This should be the first thing you have in the morning. It kick starts your body’s metabolism & helps with the cleansing process. This is vital when you are trying to flush out fat. The water you use should be filtered. Lemon will help you naturally balance your pH. Step 3: Eat Moderately Having three big full meals a day can harm your body. It is crucial to have something after two hours but in moderation. So have small 5 meals a day that includes health ingredients and are free of excess oil, ghee and fat. Step 4: NO Artificial Sweeteners You should stay away from diet sodas and ‘zero calorie’ drinks. These sweeteners are highly addictive excitotoxins. They cause users crave for more. They will contribute to the obesity rather than curing it. To sweeten your food and drinks, it is better to use honey, stevia, molasses, raw whole sugar, organic fruit juice etc. These are also referred to as lower glycemic sweeteners that help fight obesity naturally. Step 5: Add Colours in your Diet It is crucial to eat at least 5 to 6 servings of fruits and vegetables, each day. You should focus on adding yellow and red bell peppers, broccoli, red lettuce, green vegetables, berries and papaya to your diet. These are rich in nutrients and fibre that help you fight obesity and keep your body fit. Step 6: Drink Water You should drink at least 6-8 glasses of filtered water each day to stay in shape. This helps in flushing out toxins from your body and loses weight. Step 7: Get Moving You should exercise as often as possible in the gym or at home. This may not sound appealing but there is no way to escape hard work if you really want to stay in shape. Step 8: Green Tea You need to drink at least 2 cups of organic green tea to keep your metabolism in healthy state and boost your immune system.
