Due to polycystic ovary there may be complications present for pregnancy. According your information she is also overweight which is alarming. Do any thyroid test done? if not then do it and give the report. If her menstrual period is normal then no problem in pregnancy. I suggest you to plan for pregnancy as soon if possible because delay may cause complications.

Hello Dear,Periods occur when the egg formed during each menstrual cycle in the female body is not fertilized and hence ejected out of the reproductive system along with blood and several other tissue cells. The duration of each menstrual cycle is about 28 days Most women will experience their monthly period right from the time they are 13 to the time they are 50. For many women, their monthly period is nothing more than an annoyance; but other women may suffer some problems. Visit us at www.Malhotraayurveda.Com

Infertile men more prone to diabetes
Infertile men more prone to diabetes

Men diagnosed with the fertility related issues or infertility are more susceptible to type 2 diabetes according to recently published study.

The study recommends routine visits of such patients for check-up. The rates of infertility among men are rising due to changing lifestyle, dietary habits, stress and other physiological factors.

The scientists have been studying the associated factors for infertility. Now for the first time scientists have studied the effects of infertility on general ailments.

The scientists from stanford university, school of medicine conducted the study which showed that patients diagnosed with infertility have a greater risk of developing other conditions such as ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes compared to fertile men.

The scientists conducted retrospective study in which they assessed the medical records of over 1, 15, 000 men filed between 2001 and 2009.

The scientists scrutinized the men's medical visits before and after fertility testing to determine what health complications they developed in the years after fertility evaluations. They compared general health conditions of men with infertility diagnoses to men without the diagnoses and to men who underwent vasectomy.
The results of the study showed that the infertile men had higher rates of most diseases the researchers had shortlisted.

The scientists found that the infertile men had higher rates of diabetes even when the results were adjusted for the obesity. They found similar results for ischemic heart diseases.

The scientists have wished to expand their research to check physiological relationships between these conditions. Meanwhile, scientists have recommended that infertile men should regularly undergo health check-ups in order to prevent of onset of these conditions.

Can Hematuria Be Treated?

DM - Nephrology, MD-Medicine, MBBS
Nephrologist, Delhi
Can Hematuria Be Treated?

The presence of red blood cells in the urine is called hematuria. If there are sufficient red cells, the urine turns to a bright red, pink or cola shade. Frequently, the urine looks totally ordinary because there is insufficient blood to change the colour. In this situation, the condition is called 'microscopic' hematuria.

The most common causes of hematuria are given below:

  1. Urinary tract infection (UTI)
  2. Kidney stones
  3. Tumours in the kidney or bladder
  4. Exercise: In this case, the blood is produced in the urine after strenuous activity. It is more commonly experienced by male patients.
  5. Injury: Traumatic damage to any part of the urinary tract, from the kidneys to the urethral opening, can cause hematuria.

The symptoms of hematuria vary depending upon the condition. These are as follows:

  1. Glomerulonephritis: If the glomerulonephritis is not serious, it may not show any signs. If the symptoms do show up, they can cause swelling, particularly in the lower furthest points(the thighs, legs, feet, and toes), decreased urine, and hypertension.
  2. Kidney or bladder infection: Symptoms rely on the site of the diseaseand can even cause extreme pain on one side of the lower back, fever, chills, nausea with vomiting, and pain in the bladder.
  3. Prostate infection: There can be pain in the lower back or in the region between the scrotum and rearend. Pain with discharge, blood in the semen, andfever and chills can also occuronce in a while.
  4. Tumour in the kidney or bladder: Most kidney and bladder problems develop without bringing about any pain or uneasiness. At the point when side effects build up, abdomen pain may be persistent.
  5. Kidney stones: When a kidney stone gets attached to the ureters, it can bring about extreme pain in the back, side or crotch, with nausea and difficulties in urination.

Based upon the suspected cause of hematuria, some of the treatments may include the following:

  1. Urine culture: In this test, a urine sample is extracted and examined to check whether bacteria has developed. This test is used to find a case of a kidney or bladder disease.
  2. Computed tomography (CT) of the kidneys, ureters and bladder: For most cases,a CT scan is conducted. This helps in viewing the internal organs and finding the areas that may have been affected by the condition. It also shows the extent of the damage and the spread of the disease so that a proper treatment plan may be laid out.
  3. Ultrasound: This test uses sound waves to create images that can show whether or not a kidney mass is a non cancerous. This method can also be used to find out whether or not there are any kidney stones, which may be causing hematuria.
  4. Cystoscopy: In this test, the specialist embeds an adaptable telescope into the urethra and passes it into the bladder to investigate the bladder lining for tumours or different issues.

It's slow being pure n natural products but effect sustains without any side effects. The effect is visible in first month itself but recommended for use for at least 2-3 months. It will bring glow, normalise hormonal balance (through it's not hormonal medicine), relieve stress and anaemia and bring overall strength. Libido is also increased by default. It's the power of ayurveda

It is difficult to say till I know what tests have been done so far and what are your wife's symptoms other than fever. However if malaria test is negative usually it is better to avoid antimalarials. Please repeat the test from another lab if in doubt. Also she will need a series of blood tests done if fever continue beyond 72 hours.

Dear lybrate user. I can understand. The emergency contraceptive/morning-after pill has three modes of action (as does the regular birth control pill); that is, it can work in one of three ways: The normal menstrual cycle is altered, delaying ovulation; or Ovulation is inhibited, meaning the egg will not be released from the ovary; It can irritate the lining of the uterus (endometrium) so as to inhibit implantation. Take care

Hello, there is all possibility that the delay in her menses is likely to be stress induced. She may rule out pregnancy after 7days post missed period sand once negative then she can safely wait for her menses to resume for atleast 2 weeks post missed periods before opting for a progesterone withdrawal.

The day on which periods start is considered as Day 1 of the cycle. If periods are regular, with bleeding happening every 28 to 32 days, calender method of contraception can be used. According to this method, Days 1-7 of a woman's menstrual cycle are considered infertile, Days 8-19 are considered fertile; considered unsafe for unprotected intercourse and Day 20 through the end of the cycle are considered infertile.

Does cool drinks like thumsup, sprite, and chocolates are harmful to pregnant ladies?
Most soft drinks such as colas contain caffeine. Caffeine is known to cross the placenta barrier and reach the growing baby. In small doses caffeine doesn't harm your baby, but excess caffeine could decrease blood flow to the placenta and affect your growing baby.

Most women see this symptom. It is actually a good sign. It shows you are a healthy individual. There are many hormonal changes and fluctuations that take place before mentruation, eg. Stomach cramps, backache, irritation, mood swings, acne, breast pain etc. There is nothing that can be done about it. Just make sure you do not end up scratching it. You can put white toothpaste overnight if the pimple is painful.
