Lybrate-user, you haven't mentioned your height and weight. Exercise should always be gradual and can be increased in pace and time with practice. Feeling weak during a run can indicate few health issues. Weight loss can come with proper diet and exercise. Self medication is not good. So you need to visit a doctor to start with revital.

My mother has been suffering from right knee pain from last 5 years. I have visited my doctors and hospitals. There was temporary relief from the knee pain but no permanent solution. She is a high blood pressure and diabetic patient. She takes gluconorm and telma-am daily. Sir, please help me? What should I do now?

MPT - Orthopedic Physiotherapy
Physiotherapist, Jaipur
Main cause of all their problems is increase fat on their body. The ideal weight must be 50 kg. It increase pressure on their knees, heart, blood vessels. So reduce 20 kg weight and you see all problems are gone. For weight reduction use steps: 1. Morning brisk walk at least 2 km. 2. Stop eating fried, non vegetarian, dairy products. 3. Vegetables, fruits, serials, grains use in food. 4. Use hot packs for pain. 5. Gym cycling, breathing exercises.

My angiography done on 5th December 2014, report was normal but my family Dr. started a tablet Preva AS 75, is it required in case of normal angiography report?

MBBS
General Physician, Mumbai
Dear lybrateuser, - The medicine is used to prevent clotting or as a blood thinner, it could be used as a precautionary measure to avoid blood clotting if your investigations indicate - a normal angiography does not show the blood state, it indicates the state of the blood vessels - consult your doctor for further explanation as he would know the complete picture & hence the requirement.

Hi, I'm 4 months pregnant, I am having headache everyday from last week. Which make me uncomfortable. Please give me suggestion how to avoid it? What are the causes of headache? May I take medicine for that? I have spectacles. My bp is 70/120. Weight-73 kg.

MD-Ayurveda, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Sexologist, Haldwani
Hello- headaches are triggered by the hormonal changes that are happening in your body. They're very common in early pregnancy. The hormone progesterone helps to relax your womb (uterus) and blood vessels in your body, including those in your head and neck. Blood then pounds through these veins, causing headaches. Try these tips to avoid headache during pregnancy- 1. Rest and relaxation get plenty of rest and maybe take time off work, if you can. Get an early night every now and then. 2. Eating well try to eat a healthy diet. Have a wide variety of unprocessed foods of all types and colours to make sure you're getting a good balance of nutrients. 3. Posture make sure the position of your chair, computer screen and car seat encourage good posture.

Chest paining because of smoking I smoke regular. And after smoke always I get headache. Seems so weakness in body. Now leaving smoke but some thing not gud in body.

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry
Psychiatrist, Mumbai
Hello lybrate user.....This is good that you can relate your problems to smoking cigarettes and the good news is that you definitely can quit it completely. The bad news is that smoking cigarettes for long time is nicotine addiction which causes structural changes in our brain due to which quitting it becomes difficult. Usually people start smoking with friends just for experimentation and later for enjoyment and still later to relieve stress in life, but what they forget is that gradually smoking becomes a compulsion in their life and then whenever a stressful situation arises they smoke. Nicotine hijacks the pleasure seeking center in our brain and this hence the previously pleasure giving food items or activities are no more pleasurable to the same extent. You start spending more and more time in obtaining and enjoying smoking cigarettes. We have medications which decreases craving and helps in quitting smoking completely. Along with medications making simple changes in lifestyle and bringing about stress management in life can have miraculous help in quitting smoking addiction. I hope that you quit smoking in the near future and resume a healthy life. Take care

In some cases, repeated examination and screening yield no positive results, yet the patient still complains of vaginal discharge. It is then appropriate to explore with the patient the nature of the discharge and relate this to normal physiological discharge, to review personal hygiene habits (advise to avoid douches, perfumed products and tight synthetic clothing) and to explore the possibility of the hidden complaint, such as depression, anxiety or psychosexual dysfunction. Graphotes - profuse, thin, white mucous discharge which comes in gushes with associated back and lower abdominal pain, discharge is more profuse in the morning on rising, constantly cold.

PGD Maternal Child Health, MBBS

Your father must have been taken for angioplasty after the diagnosis of heart attack was conclusive. It seems from your narrative that his heart stopped beating for a while on the table at the time of angioplasty and he was resuscitated by cardiac thumping. Now that he is okay, he needs to follow the medical advice religiously taking medicines, dietary constraints, proper work routines etc. Done rightly he should have a normal life. Chest pains need clinical examination and necessary checks so keep in touch with the treating physician.

Im high blood pressure and diabetes patient how I decrease both this by food and exercise?

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr Debu, For treating both hypertension and diabetes taking prescribed drugs is essential. If you are already on drug treatment, then only the diet control and exercise will provide additional benefit. If you are looking for only diet and exercise without any drug treatment, then i am not sure whether there is any benefit. For hypertension your diet should contain less of salt (not more than 2.3 g a day). Our average diet gives almost 8 to 10 g of salt. (Sodium chloride). This means all food preparations made at home should contain minimal salt, no salt on table, no salt to be added to salads or fruits. No processed foods as all those contain very high quantity of salt. No pickles and papads, no salty substances fried shave or chivada etc. For diabetes your diet should give exact calories based on your Ideal Body Weight, blood sugar levels and extent of daily physical activity. You should avoid sweets, deep fried foods, junk foods and pastries. Refrain from alcohol and smoking, red meat and egg yolk. Plus at lest 1 hour of exercise on all days of the week or at least on 5 days.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS

You should go for a routine Echo test to know % functiong of heart and an ECG to know about fresh damage to heart + new test called troponin test done on a drop of blood taken from finger , if it is reactive ,it means fresh heart attack , ECG can show old heart attack changes plus may or may not show new changes .

Dear It is likely that the injury of the accident has changed the normal blood flow on two sides. In anycase, it is common for there to be a variation in BP on two sides of every individual. If this problem is not causing pain, discomfort or other issues, just make sure you exercise both arms equally to maintain balance. you can see our site healthsolutions.net.in for further help to maintain good circulation and blood vessel health. regards
