Know How Physiotherapy Can Help to Reduce Knee Pain!

Physiotherapist, Latur
Know How Physiotherapy Can Help to Reduce Knee Pain!

Knee pain is one of the most common and painful ailments that can limit mobility. Injuries can result in cartilage or meniscal tears or sprains too. Obesity is another reason because of which knee pain is on the rise. Also, regular wear and tear of ligaments and tendons around the knees due to old age is another cause. These days, with reduced physical activities and sedentary lifestyles, the rate at which knees are wearing out has also become accelerated. Whatever the reason, a correct diagnosis followed by prompt treatment can help. Over the years, physiotherapy has been playing an important role in treating knee injuries. Whether to supplement the various drugs to reduce pain and inflammation or to avoid surgery, physiotherapy has helped many and its popularity is growing every day. Here are some ways that physiotherapy can help reduce pain.

  • Improve flexibility of tendons: The knee cap is an area where there are lot of tendons and ligaments, coordinating to enable movement. Careful exercising can ensure that the flexibility of tendons and ligaments is improved, thereby making your knee movement easier and less painful.
  • Improves blood supply: As we all know, proper movement requires good blood supply. Exercising with special focus on the knee ensures that blood supply is improved, and thereby the supporting ligaments and tendons function optimally.
  • Enhances the knee cap function: The knee cap is that portion which joins your thigh bone to your calf bones. This is prone to slip out of place, especially with arthritis and injuries. This can be painful and limit movement to a great degree. Focused exercises aimed at improving knee cap function will ensure that the knee cap has a wider range of function, and does not slip out of its socket easily.
  • Reduce rigidity: Once you start physiotherapy, you will feel your knees getting more flexible. The rigidity that had set in as a result of injuries and/or old age will also reduce over a period of time.
  • Slow down the wear and tear: When you start physiotherapy after knee damage, continuing the exercise routine, of course with expert guidance, can reduce the pace at which further damage might happen. A word of caution though. Be sure to consult an experienced physiotherapist before you begin. Exercising in a bad manner can do equal or more harm than the original injury or old age itself.

A breakfast should be a good combination of protein, carbohydrates and do add some fruits. Breakfast should be a complete meal as the whole day's activity depends upon breakfast. Lunch should also contain carbohydrate and protein and vegetables and salad. Dinner should be early and the lightest meal of the day with less carbohydrates and average protein and lots of green vegetables and salad. Take small meals at small intervals and include at least 3-4 fruits a day.

Protinex powder is good for all ages but it should be used in lukewarm milk Asit causes denaturation of protein. Milk powder is okay to be used sometimes but it is good if you use more of natural things.

As arthritis is very common that you get generally bilaterally. Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. You can take Ultrasonic therapy in one of the nearby physiotherapy clinics which would help to heal the damaged cartilages along with shortwave diathermy which would help to improve the blood circulation. Simple Knee Exercies Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. Hello Dr. I am having too much pain in my runner knee coz I start running in morning from last week.

Hello Dr. I am having too much pain in my runner knee coz I start running in morning from last week.
Hii As you have started running suddenly, the knee has begun to hurt. Its always advisable to start running slowly and then progress even more slowly over weeks. It takes time to achieve desired results. Do not increase the workload all of a sudden. Also, it is very important to do a proper warm up and stretches before starting your running. Cool down period after exercise is also very helpful in preventing pain. To know more about warm up and stretches you can consult me privately. You can meet a physio directly to have a detailed evaluation of your flexibility, strength etc. However its good that you have started running, keep going but slow and steady. Good luck.

Dealing With Stress In The Corporate World

Dealing With Stress In The Corporate World

Business world has evolved in the past few decades in such a manner where small businesses grow to become corporate. The world is increasingly being dominated by corporations and a significant number of people also work in these places.

Stress and The Corporate World:

One of the things that come along with the corporate environment is stress as it brings with it an entirely new lifestyle. Irregular food habits, odd shift durations, insufficient sleeping hours and extremely tough work situations are all part and parcel of this corporate world. Although highly rewarding in the path of materialistic pursuits, it squeezes out your life-force and pushes you to stress and other diseases such as:

  1. Depression

  2. Diabetes

  3. Blood Pressure

  4. Asthma

  5. Migraines and

  6. Acidity and other gastrointestinal problems just to mention a few.

Methods to Deal with Stress in the Corporate World:

In the corporate world, the level of stress proliferates quickly and very few workplaces actually harbor a healthy atmosphere to look after their employees. Thus you have to take steps to reduce stress by yourself. Here are some of the ways by which you can save yourself from the parasite of stress.

  1. You may often feel everything around you going haywire in your workplace. The next time you have this notion, try gathering your focus on everything that is going right instead. Let optimism fill your day and keep your cool knowing that losing it will only cause you harm.

  2. At work, when hours fall short for achieving your target, keep a To-Do list to manage your priorities in an efficient and organized way.

  3. For most people work seems to engulf their entire life. Do not allow this to happen at any cost. Maintain a healthy balance between your office and your personal commitments. Make time for the people you love.

  4. Take short breaks in between your work to rejuvenate your energy level.

  5. Try out methods of relaxation, for instance a long walk, a hot bath, yoga or meditation.

  6. Assess your work at the end of the day as well as set a schedule plan for the tasks to be completed on the following day.

  7. Engage in hobbies like drawing, painting, dancing and gardening or music to disconnect from the pressures of the corporate world.

  8. Pay a visit to a psychologist or a stress management workshop to de-stress yourself.

Proteins are one of the four different types of macromolecules, in addition to carbohydrates, lipids, or fats, and nucleic acids, such as DNA and RNA. Macromolecules are large molecules that perform specialized functions inside living organisms. The structural arrangement of a protein molecule will differ in accordance with its function. Meats, cheeses, and nuts tend to have a higher protein content than many plant-based sources. A vitamin is an organic compound and a vital nutrient that an organism requires in limited amounts. An organic chemical compound is called a vitamin when the organism cannot synthesize the compound in .The water soluble vitamins: Vitamin B1 or Thiamin - come from whole grains, enriched grains; liver; nuts, and seeds. Vitamin B2 or Riboflavin - comes from whole grains, enriched grains, and dairy products. Vitamin B3 or Niacin - comes from meat, fish, poultry, and whole grains. Carbohydrates are the sugars, starches and fibers found in fruits, grains, vegetables and milk products. Though often maligned in trendy diets, carbohydrates — one of the basic food groups — are important to a healthy life.
