An inherited disorder of the muscles, Scapuloperoneal myopathy causes muscle weakness and wasting of muscles. Loss of sensations in the face, shoulder area and legs are some of the commonly observed symptoms of this disorder. It slows down the nerve impulses and also causes an abnormal gait in affected persons. There is no treatment but physiotherapy is used as a supportive measure.
