Restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM) is a very rare condition that affects the myocardium. Cardiomyopathy is essentially of three types and among them Restrictive cardiomyopathy is the least common. Restrictive filling of the ventricles is an essential cause of this condition. Some of the symptoms include- breathing problems, fatigue and pain and tenderness of the abdomen. A through physical examination is essential for diagnosis of Restrictive cardiomyopathy, with a through cardiovascular and respiratory system examination. Complications that may result out of this condition are thromboembolism, dysrhythmias, cardiac cirrhosis and increasing decline of cardiac function. This condition cannot be cured with a specific treatment, but its causes are treated with the help of therapies.
