Porencephaly is an extremely rare neurological disorder of the central nervous system. The cysts develop as a result of some abnormal development, from damage, hemorrhage or inflammation. A variety of symptoms are displayed by the disorder including spastic paresis, delayed growth and cerebral palsy among others. CT scan, MRI and ultrasonography are some of the methods that are used to diagnose the extent of neurological degeneration.
