Nosebleeds also known as Epistaxis are a commonplace condition. Rupturing of nasal blood vessels causes hemorrhage and it can happen for a number of reasons. The most common ones include deformities of septum, vascular disorders or hypertension. It is easily treatable with a few basic first aid measures like holding the head backwards. Nose packs or sprays can be administered to prevent the loss of blood in benign cases. Malignant cases must however be brought to medical attention.
HOW IS NOSEBLEEDS DIAGNOSED?
Severe cases of nose bleeds without cessation or one occurring at a high frequency might necessitate an endoscopic surgery.
