Nemaline myopathy is a neuromuscular disorder affecting the muscles that are instrumental in movement, for instance those in the face, spine and limbs. It reduces the mileage of these skeletal muscles and causes excruciating pain even while simple activities like eating or getting up after sitting. Deformation occurs in joints and spines, which is why the disease is often referred to as the rod body syndrome. Affected patients run the risk of breathing problems due to weakening of pulmonary muscles
HOW IS NEMALINE MYOPATHY DIAGNOSED?
