Presence of thick scar tissues in the lungs, refers to a condition known as Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Due to this, the oxygen levels reduce and the normal functioning of the body gets disturbed. The most common symptoms of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis are dry cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle ache, joint pain and weight loss. The root cause of this condition is unknown. It usually develops in middle-aged or older adults.
HOW IS IDIOPATHIC PULMONARY FIBROSIS DIAGNOSED?
It generally occurs in people who have a history of cigarette smoking.
