A sexually transmitted disease caused due to a bacteria called Neisseria gonorrhoeae, is known as Gonorrhea. Urethra, throat, rectum and cervix are the main organs affected by this condition. Pain while urinating, thick discharge from the penis, spotting between menstrual periods, increase in vaginal discharge, swelling in the testicles, painful movements in the bowel and anal itching are the common symptoms associated with this condition. Gonorrhea can be treated with the use of an antibiotic named- 'Cephalosporins'. Having protected sex and having a single sex partner, helps in preventing this condition.
