A rare hereditary blood disorder, Glanzmann Thrombasthenia, where the function of blood coagulation is impaired results in abnormal bleeding. The most common symptoms include easy bruising, nosebleeds, gum bleeding and formation of red or purple colored spots on the skin (due to bleeding in skin). It is considered be fatal, if proper medical attention is not given.
HOW IS GLANZMANN THROMBASTHENIA DIAGNOSED?
It is named after a Swiss pediatrician Eduard Glanzmann , who was the first to describe this condition.
