Fanconi Anemia is a disorder that causes a failure in the function of the bone marrow. It is a recessive gene disorder which is caused due to low red blood cell count. Bone marrow is the soft tissue inside the bone which is a site for the production of red and white blood cells. Some of the apparent defects of the disorder are defected eyes, a missing kidney, skin discoloration and skeletal defects which are usually noticeable at birth. A person who suffers from this condition has a chance of contracting a range of cancers as they age.
