Cryptosporidiosis is a type of viral infection of the intestines. The virus, Cryptosporidium partum is responsible for this condition. Watery diarrhea, dehydration, lack of appetite, fever and weight loss are some of the apparent symptoms. The parasite moves through the intestinal tract before settling on the intestine walls to reproduce. Eating and drinking contaminated food and water and coming in contact with infected person can increase the chances of contracting it. Severe dehydration and excruciating inflammation of the pancreas are two of the many complications.
